"Now Sunderland know where they stand, it is time to push ahead with plans for next season. While things have been tentatively put in place in recent weeks and months, much has had to hang on whether the Black Cats would be in the 2019-20 Championship or League One. Luton Town, Barnsley, Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City and Fulham have had a head-start in their preparations for the new surroundings, but at least the Black Cats have got there. So what are the big issues to get to grips with if this latest spell in the second tier is not to be as short-lived as the last? Chairman Stewart Donald has never made any secret of his desire to inject extra investment in the Championship. They will have a budget to tread water in the division, but that is not what they came up for. Not that the second-tier is usually decided by money in the bank, but this was only the fifth-best team in League One last season – it needs strengthening. Before a signing has been made this summer, Sunderland’s wage bill stands at £18m. . . . That is not ridiculous as it was in League One, but there is still fat that they will want to trim." Etc., etc. Oops.

Fulham 0-4 Newcastle United - 12/05/19 - post match from pg8 onwards

If you don't count Wolves . . . -
Do people really think someone is now going to pay over £7million for him this Summer? His fee has probably gone up about £2million/3million at most. He's an above-average Premier League midfielder, just turned 24, more than two years left on his contract, good injury record, good attitude, intelligent. In the current market he should fetch a lot more than that.

Arlo White, not Lee Dixon. -
His play improved a lot after Ashley promised to take the team on holiday if they avoided relegation. Reckon that was an important motivating factor for a lot of the players tbh.

I'd hazard a guess at because he's an idiot. Mackem’s Razor Very good.

That's what Bobby Madley said.

The two dropped at Wolves. Forget any ref injustice/softness/bad luck etc, just on the timing of events in games we really should have seen out +1 point vs Wolves at home, +2 vs Wolves away , +2 vs Cardiff away. I can't think of any games where we have gained points in injury time to counter these Stick 5 points on and take 3 off Wolves and we re joint 10th and only one point off 8th. Small margins which whilst we haven't taken them, ultimately just further cement how bloody good Rafa is at this shit And should have taken at least a point at Old Trafford.

They got Giggs instead.

According to Wikipedia: "Miguel Ángel Almirón Rejala (born 10 February 1994) is a Paraguay footballer who plays as a midfielder for Newcastle United in the English premier league and the Paraguay national team."

It'll depend on what the release clause says.
