Slightly odd choice here but would anyone take David Wagner if Bruce got the push? He completely bombed at Schalke but always felt he got the most out of the players he had at Huddersfield. His pressing style and organisation seems like something that would improve us massively to whatever the fuck we’re playing now. Obviously not my first choice but just a name that cropped up when I was scrolling through budget managers out of work.

I’m actually baffled he’s managed to pick so many defensive minded players against a team who haven’t won a game. Twitter seems to be focusing on 5 at the back rather than the complete lack of any forward thinking players bar Fraser and Wilson.

He’s comfortably the most creative centre midfielder we have and the only one with any intention of passing the ball forwards. He’s got his flaws but surely you can’t pull him up for the thing he’s actually good at? 3 assists in 49 games. CREATIVE. Come on mate, it’s far more complex that assist statistics and you know it. I’m not saying he’s some sort of creatine genius but compared to the other options he’s the most forward thinking passer we have. Then consider we haven’t scored a goal in about 7-8 hours and created almost zero you can see the original posters thought process.

I think the reaction to him after a bad game is way over the top compared to most players. He’s been decent lately but yesterday he was completely ineffectual. I’d like to see two actual wide players playing instead of him with Wilson up front now, we’re always so one sided.
