Which of our players do you like out of interest? Apart from Almiron and Wilson there aren’t really many likeable players in the team imo Most to be honest. The core that was here under Benitez mainly, and we added some good characters like ASM. In terms of quality and squad togetherness I think we’re a strong unit. It’s like chalk and cheese compared to the main players that took us down last time. With a decent manager I think we could achieve far more than what we have and be much more interesting to watch. Top 10 maybe.

I recognise it’s pathetic but I hope we lose this one which is a shame because I really like a lot of our players. Scraping through this cup and getting outplayed in the process by lower league clubs has been hailed as some sort of Bruce success. I feel like this is the last thing he can cling to at the minute. If we play Wilson in this given how reliant we are on him would he madness.

Howe won't come here to work for Ashley. I don’t think Howe would get many better offers than us. We’ve got the attacking players that would suit his passing style, on/off takeover in the background. He could make us look even normal and get tons of praise for it in weeks. Cabbage head won’t get the sack but I think Howe would be my realistic pick.

I’m not a fan of how fast people write off young players across the board and I do think Longstaff has potential to be a good player if he continues to work on what he did under Rafa. Bruce has to take a portion of the blame but so does Longstaff on this occasion. You can’t go from talking about having distractions around the Man U bid, publicly hiring agents who leak stuff to the media and then turn out performances like this first half v Palace and the entire Leeds game. I didn’t see yesterday’s game but I don’t think I’ve seen a worse cm performance against Leeds since some of the games a I’m back used to hack and side pass his way through. He’s really at a cross-roads in his career at present and that could either be a decent Premier League midfielder or a football league journeyman.

Think I’ll give this a miss tonight. That lineup is awful and I can’t face watching us being battered after this Boris clusterfuck today.

Slightly ? I'd say infinitely more. They’ve conceded as many clear chances in this game as we did last night. They seem to be way off the unit they used to be.

Outplayed again. This is pretty much every week. There’s is absolutely no chance Ashley will get rid of Bruce and what’s being dished up is entirely on him. Yet we’re told regularly that we should be happy with this shit. It’s properly awful and some of the worst football we’ve served up for as long as I can remember. Longstaff hit a level I’ve only seen Colback manage for a centre mid.

I really feel like we should appreciate Bruce like all the pundits tell us to. This is brilliant. We can’t possibly expect to compete with these newly promoted teams.
