I think this is where I’m at with it. It’s a good window for the Ashley era although as usual there’s a lot of ifs and buts attached to that statement.

As they play a 4-4-2, would be interesting to see him used upfront in a pair. Think he would get goals. Good addition to their mix of forwards, as only Ings looks a consistent goal threat out of their options. I thought he looked terrible when he came on for Everton. He’s a player who’s made a career on pace and it’s starting to leave him. We were linked with him last week and I’d honestly rather Murphy got more game time.

He’s been outmuscled today by Antonio but I’ve seen him have some really quality games for Leicester. Given he was Maguire’s replacement he looks like a massive upgrade.

It’s weird watching Ayoze just ambling around. He was inconsistent for us but always pressed high and worked hard, especially under Rafa. He seems a bit lost under Rodgers.

Soucek and Rice seem like a really solid pairing in the middle.

I like Darlow. He’s a really solid backup keeper for this league but that’s taking the piss. The visual improvement when we upgraded to Dubravka was incredible. Pickford has been shite but Pope (despite being poor yesterday) and Henderson are miles above his level.
