Best thing about all these tossers jumping on the NUFC bandwagon (if we can call it that ) is that they are generally that tossers, just trying to shift a few papers or sell some advertising. They are all Adrian Durhams trying to be argumentative or look clever and their knowledge is usually based on 15 minutes of highlights. It will probably be the same with this five live show tomorrow. A few so called experts and some fella who once donned the B&W rambling on. I would much rather listen to the opinion of some fan who loves the club and bothers to bash a few thoughts out on his keyboard whether he is a 16 year old new comer or a 70 year old veteran.
  7. So many heroes this season in B&W, its of course harsh to lay the praise at one player more than another, however the Goalkeeper role imo is vital to how the back four play. If they know they have a calm pair of gloves behind them Im sure it gives them so much more confidence to concentrate on their own game. I cant really remember us ever having a keeper that had it all like Krul seems to do. and lets not forget he's only an absolute baby in Goalkeeping terms.
  8. The excuses and spin in this thread from the fanboys is verging on legendary. If he scores an own goal in the next match it wouldn't surprise me to pop in this thread and find out that he "had to do it to spur on his team mates"! Just give it a rest until he actually does something
  9. You are fairly clueless about football for somebody who claims to be in his mid 40's. Ben Arfa did very little wrong yesterday apart from giving away a free kick for going in too high with his foot up around waist height and another time when we cleared the ball from the centre of our defence and he couldn't control a ball with his chest. Other than that he played fairly well and took pressure off us when others around him were struggling after Monday night’s game. Did you actually read what I posted. I said it was an average performance and that he should have passed to Ba, should have released the ball quicker and looked sluggish. These same points have made by many posters on here over the last 24 hours so I guess we are all clueless.
  10. See this is what happens when you assume Jonas was crap yesterday however given that he ran his bollocks off earlier in the week I think he is allowed a duffer. I do still worry about his attacking which has almost ground to a halt. A few times yesterday he received the ball in good positions and the crowd were baying for him to scurry down the wing but he just waited and played the ball back or sideways. Hopefully Pardew can find a way to get both parts of his game working in tandem. Marveaux is a hard one. I found his performance okay but unmemorable. You can see he is a quality player who is very comfortable on the ball, but he didnt seem to scare the opposition in the same way Obertans blistering runs down the right have done to some degree. It didnt help that he went from long sleeve top to short sleeve top in the second half! Spent ages trying to spot his long sleeve shirt As Ive said before, I dont think we have yet unearthed the perfect mix on the wings and up front. We seem to have all the right players but are using a mix that is getting us by when with the players we have, we should have a mix that is terrorising some defences. Part of this is down to the lack of threat down the left. Personally I would love to see Marveaux on the left and Ben Arfa somewhere in the middle linking up as they did in the cup game. I would have Obertan on the right and give Jonas a breather. I honestly think its a very tough one and we havent yet got it right......but hard to argue with third.
  11. The wing comments came from Pardew I didnt criticise his performance I simply said it was an average display from him, nothing special.
  12. Let's talk seriously man because you are 40 years old now. He hadn't many occasions to "really" do something. He's not playing enough. The difference hear tbf is there will be the French posters and other English posters who have watched him for years and love him. Thats fine. I used to be like that with Beardsley and loved watching him play whoever it was for and would no doubt support him as you are doing. There will be other fans, like me, who know little of him before he arrived and are hoping / waiting to be converts like yourself. Whats tedious though is the "he will be this" or "This is not the right game" or "he was excellent" when he was average. This cant be highlighted better by looking at the length of his thread compared to probably the rest of the squad put together. I am no different to the fans that I sit around at the match who get excited when he comes on, expect something special when he gets the ball and then sigh a touch or groan when it doesnt quite work, especially when a simple lay off would have kept the thing going. This is why I originally banged on about the reserves. Everyone keeps saying he needs game time yet its obviously not going to happen any time soon. Surely getting match fit for the second string and knocking a few goals / assists would do his confidence the world of good. I think some on here think Pardew is gently easing him back in in readiness for him becoming the number 10. It doesnt look that way to me and it looks as though Pardew is quite happy with Ba and Best and Ben Arfa is simply just another sub. Regardless, people should try and be a little less precious discussing him.
  13. First one my daughter (22) has been at and she couldnt believe that the stadium could suddenly go so quiet. Sad I know, but I was excited for her during it, knowing that at the end of the minute the roof would be coming off. Even I still find it an amazing occurrence and so proud that its observed correctly.
  14. The problem you have and a few others like you is that you are so blinkered or so keen to follow like sheep, that you struggle to be able to have a sensible conversation about a player. I have said countless times how I hope it all clicks and he is a big success for us, but I can't see the point in blowing smoke up his arse when he hasn't really done anything so far this season. He was pretty average yesterday simple as that. Two other people today mentioned the tension bit and given his previous, the fact he's even down the pecking order on the subs and the fact this is a football chat forum, discussing what may or may not be playing out seems fair game to me. I also didn't say he would probably be sold, I said it wouldn't surprise me. Finally, if random Newcastle fans discussing things to do with the club annoy you, you may be be better logging on to cbeebies.
  15. Except pardew said he was great and did exactly what he told him to do which makes your argument null He did generally keep hold of the ball too long. Pardew isn't going to say he did poorly. The lad needs careful man management, he is still a long way from being ready for regular starts and he looks extremely frustrated to me. He was warming up, looking at Pardew, with Pardew seemingly deliberately looking away from him. May just be me but I get the feeling that there is tension between the two. I think you could be right about the tension thing and this is only going to intensify the longer this situation goes on as it is. Interesting yesterday seeing Pardew big Ba up as "the number 10" in the journal. Those who know Pardews career will have a better idea whether he is a fan of the flair type player like HBA. Pardew to me seems very much defence first, then attack and I just wonder if a player like HBA who may do something great, but may also concede possession, is his type of player. Could be that he sees Ba playing the 10 role off the new striker. I hope HBA does come good because Beardsley type players are a joy to watch. I wouldn't however be shocked if he was gone in the next window or two. Except that we converted the loan into purchase under Pardew's watch. Maybe Pardew mistook him for a defender? Seriously the saying creating a mountain out of a molehill does not adequately describe your postings, you're creating a mountain out of nothing! It's good that HBA is desperate to play and it's also good that Pardew is easing him in (although now with Obertan and Marveux injured, I expect him to get more minutes if not starting games). I'd be very surprised if Pardew had anything whatsoever to do with that decision.

Grow up says the internet warrior. Give over man
  17. Thought he was immense again yesterday. Feel quite privileged to be watching this guy live.

  19. Yup Very pleased for the lad.
  20. So funny when that started up
  21. Once again I find myself in the alternate universe where I watched a HBA performance that looked very average. Kept the ball too long, didnt make the easy pass and looked quite sluggish. Its nice for some to dress this up as carrying out Pardews tactical instructions bla bla bla. Sometimes people should just call a spade a spade. Average performance and possibly revealing how Pardew currently rates him given the subs that were used ahead of him.
  22. Contract update in the journal this morning according to Mark Douglas Tweets
  23. Bottom line for me is he rightly got the blame when it all went tits up and should rightly get the credit for turning it around. Even a lot of the decisions he has made post relegation I have disagreed with at the time and then come to realise it was the best decision (imo) be that .... Not appointing Shearer after relegation Appointing Hughton Appointing Graham Carr Replacing Hughton with Pardew Selling Carrol and quite a few more. And thats even before we get to the improvements at the training ground (which if we are not already seeing the benefit of with less injuries, will will see the benefit of over winter when we can still train on grass due to under soil heating), or the various season ticket deals. Took the crap for the bad, should get a fair heap of praise for the good. And long may it continue.
