  1. "Mike Ashley would be stupid to try to compete with English football's billionaires' - former Newcastle owner Sir John Hall praises successor's more cautious approach"
  2. If we beat Everton, Man U draw and Im sitting watching MOTD with us 2nd......... Might even have a little cry.
  3. Not an anti Ben Arfa post Sometimes the problem with very skilful footballers with lightening football brains is that more average players struggle to be able to know whats going to come off. I used to notice this at different times with Beardsley and Gazza. Not an anti Ben Arfa post
  4. At the end of the day, when his chance comes and if he takes it, everyone will be very supportive. If he doesnt then people, including the silver fox, will continue to favour Besty. Just the way it is. Bit like the Santon situation. The screams for him to replace Taylor have died down, however when his chance comes he may defend well on his own and free up Jonas to attack. No shit, Sherlock. If your comment to every situation is that Pardew/the manager will be the decider then every thread on here and every football thread on every football or any sports forum is useless. Everyone wants us to win. Everyone wants us to develop into a good football team; one that is fun to watch, hard to beat and is able to compete. That's something that's so obvious that it doesn't need to be mentioned. Most of us have different opinions about our players and it's interesting to hear what different fans think about each player, regardless of whether the manager agrees or not. The managers view was just chucked in there due to your opening dramatic statement...."I just dont understand this, lets bench...". Maybe you were just being over dramatic. It shouldnt be too hard to understand that a lot of fans share the same view as the manager.

  6. Are you saying that Pardew already drop to conclusions about Ben Arfa ? Strange comments. Im saying (as is quite obvious), Pardew currently prefers Best and Ba to any other combination.
  7. This thread bounces from one end of the scale to the other. 1. No one, bar possibly 1, maybe, has written Ben Arfa off. 2. Its understandable given we are third that fans are reluctant to drop Best 3. While Im sure Ben Arfa is more skillfull, Best is currently holding the ball up and not conceding possession. This is probably the main reason why Pardew prefers to continue with Best and not HBA.
  8. Todays piece from Mark Douglas History’s on Newcastle United's side for Euro hopes
  9. It should be wrong as Obi has been a regular feature of the team that has got us to 3rd and Pardew has chosen to pick him over the other two. I know what you mean though.
  10. Pretty gutted about this. :'( As much as Ive been desperate to see Marveaxu get a game, I do think Obi has been improving and offers us something a little bit different than we'll get with Marveaux. I like Obi's very fast runs down the right and even when he doesnt get the ball, he scares the opposition into hoofing it out as happened against Stoke quite often. Not sure if Marveaux does that and tend to think off him more as a silky Nolberto sought of winger. Still, Marveaux or Ben Arfa (if he agrees) are still canny options to bring in. Have to remember how important this position is with Jonas doing the extra defence bit.

assuming he keeps it up he'd surely be one of the only outstanding english managers around, no? certainly managing top flight clubs just seen redknapp is to have heart surgery as well... Surely its a question for Fat Sam
  12. Thought NUFC.CO.UK used to have a man of the match voted for by the fans. Is this still around anywhere? Cant find it.
  13. Selfishly quite pleased about this. During the last home game I thought the young section was quite noisy and the fact that they are getting nearer to me (middle Leazes) can only improve my matchday experience and hopefully spur some more of the Leazes to join in.
  14. Same, I've been arguing this for ages. My only doubt is that there are clubs out there who can make Carroll-esque offers which are hard to turn down for any club. That's just football though. Agree, i am not worried, but i can actually see top clubs throwing silly money at us for both Tiote and Cabaye in the future. But unfortunately that is just the way football is. At some point it will happen. Just got to hope that Graham Carr keeps the production line going at the other end. Only 12 months ago we would have thought the end was nigh if lost Carrol, Barton, Nolan and Enrique....Yet here we are Third
  15. @Sammy_Ameobi Big Shols gets free tickets to go see @TinieTempah and doesn't even invite his loving younger brother...can you imagine?!
  16. Im sitting here watching the video and full pelt it looks horrible. Foots off the ground, studs showing and lunges in.
  17. Not sure why we seem to tag ourselves as this big selling club all of a sudden. A stupid mega money offer for an unproven young kid who was/is meandering off the rails doesnt seem like such bad business, even though it hurt like hell at the time. Unless mega offers come in, I feel confident we will only sell when it suits us.
  18. Having watched it again last night he does go in with studs up where as the stoke player looks to ho in with studs down. Also worth noting that the refs positioning couldnt really be better. He's even bending in for a closer look. I think yellow was probably right. As others have said as well, very impressed with Mike Dean the referee. Seemed really on the ball, gave himself a few moments before making big decisions and explained those decisions very clearly. http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/1236/vlcsnap2011110212h02m36.png

Im still only concerned about the Man City game. I think we may well get something off Manu and Chelsea.

What Im really loving (and starting to believe myself) is this whole one game at a time malarky. I know its an old football cliche, but I really think Pardew is really hammering this home. Its even starting to come through in the player interviews a lot more. Now that we are 10 games in, unbeaten and third, this next game mentality is a religion that I can sign up to. When you look at it that way rather than the normal "it will equal out and we might finish 8th or 9th" its hard not to start to get a little carried away with how good this season could be. Everything at the club just seems so geared for sustained success / improvement at the minute.

  23. Cant quite understand how clubs (Leicester) keep giving Roy Keane a job. He is a shit manager right?
