He's obviously a great manager and what manager would ever say no to being allowed to buy any player they want. Yes maybe better managers with better success rate in champions league of course but most managers lose occaisionally in the league to the norwich's of the world. He is one of the few managers to have had a dramatic effect on tactics accross multiple leagues. Is he best ever? Of course not. Would it be more impressive if he did it with Whitley Bay? Of course. Does that invalidate everything about him? No. He's a fine manager, and there are other fine managers, and yes there probably is a bit of silly fluff to him cos he's a bit cool and hipstery which shouldnt affect judgement of him though it will, but who wants all managers the same?
