Would definitely take an upgrade, he is probably the weak link at the back but I like him, has clearly bought into everything and think he has improved a bit.
-
That said don't think he will stand for being screwed around in transfer windows for long. We need to be taken over.
-
Alli was benched for a lot of last friendlies because Southgate believes he gives the ball away too much. He's more a direct goal threat than anyone who can control a game, different players.

So refs should just engage in shoving with other players rather than you know follow the rules and show a red card?
-
A lot of the Italian press seem to be arguing that the ref should have realised it was more romantic for Juve to win and should have acted accordingly. As much as it pains me to say but it was a pen, soft or not still we'd be screaming not to get a pen in the same circumstances and Buffon's behaviour was absolutely unacceptable and should have been sent off. he is supposed to be the mature captain. It all reeks a bit of as much as I was rooting for Juve ahead of Real Madrid, of the kind of outrage you can only muster if you are used to decisions forever going for you in your own league because you are Juventus and the champions etc etc. Really they should be looking at how they conceded 3 goals at home, yes one was a wondergoal but they also scored 2 more. That's why you lost, not the referee correctly applying the laws of the game.

We're obviously the unsavoury ones, just look how we treat stifler

Martin Dúbravka (now playing for Burnley)

Remember the first time he came to catch a cross, part of me was thinking oh hell here we go and then he just confidently got it, then did it again. Makes such a difference. -
it's a pen, soft and player looking for it rather than trying to score oddly, but buffon acted like a fool. Lost his head when he is the most experienced player on the pitch.
-
definitely but it does raise issue of players who clubs want to keep then not getting proper game time. I imagine we'll definitely see premier league B teams in championship etc if this happens.
-
We're overdue one then
-
I kinda think Stoke and Southampton were done by midtable lack of ambition inertia, the players are only interested in moves away and it just drags teams down. Forward momentum and genuine cup of league interest drives teams on and keeps moods alive.

Anyone expecting ashley to act rationally is in for disappointment, not that anyone else is going to be happy either

So begins the 'is it a negotiating position or is he really not going to sell us' fun time of the summer. I expect maximum amount of belligerent destroying of any chance we have of any positivity this summer

What a load of rubbish. Safe standing would improve atmosphere and gates throughout the league, would sound great on tele and is not the same as the old fashioned standing that was only a contributing factor to Hillsborough anyway. It's a win win for all concerned imo.

Thing is at turn of the year it was clear we'd need a massive boost in form to stay up, and lo and behond we'd be 6th or something if league started at Christmas. Rafa said he always knew we'd get towards the end of the season and was part of the plan.

So I just sent her my own letter, it says in big letters DID YOU RING STIFLER YOU NUTTER, written in blood naturally

Just going to break his leg though

If those are Reds Maguires should be 7 game ban or something, honestly yellows for everyone involved there should have been enough

Imagine if they had to deal with actually having a properly shit team
