I'm not a member of the cult of ange but ewan Murray has a column which is the most thinly veiled piece of revenge for a manager being a bit snippy with him you'll see. The only negative thing it can actually conjour seems to be he doesn't like being told he has got where he has through luck. Who does?

There argument against challenging it in the courts is if we piss the league off won't a hundred more punitive rules thinly veiled targeted at us get passed out of vindictiveness and even if they don't stand up in court will take years to challenge them. Hopefully this has highlighted the deep flaw in ffp which i have defended the original intent of (but the implementation does seem to just be protect the top six at all costs in reality). I still think with patience we will get there and it was always going to be a gradual building process which has always been the language our owners have used.

I mean why would you poach Brighton's director of football to not sell for loads of money and buy slightly under the radar until we have more income than god?
-
As slowly depressing as it all feels that increase in revenue it's good and that's before sela and addidas, we're making more money we just need to buy and sell cleverly which will be sad but for the first time i am sure we will replace players with other good ones

Just came into this. She obviously deserves no abuse. And I don't really know quite where I stand because I agree the transformation into a 'modern super club' is absolutely terrible, absolutely no aspect of the club won't be turned to be marketing fodder, everything about selling the club to new supporters, every player just an image to be sold and to sell lifestyle brands etc etc. It's why the takeover to me is a bit mixed, outside of my very real but mostly suppressed ethical issues i fear when we become like Man City, a total phony marketing machine disguised as a club where the sport is totally dislocated form any local reality. I have a little nagging feeling (and by the way I could be wrong, I wonder if i'll just say fuck it and love it all when we are winning everything) that maybe these are teh glory days? Last season may be the most fun it will ever be, rampantly overperforming scoring goals? Maybe nothing will beat this season when Dan fucking Burn scored against PSG? Maybe in the future we'll just be totally interchangeable anonymous players with massive media profiles going through the motions.... Anyway. Those are my worries, this does feel like the absolutely smallest least offensive thin end of this wedge and dear god everyone who feels the need to abuse the poor woman on social media needs to have all communication tools confiscated and locked away in a dungeon somewhere until they get a fucking life.

Our cup drawing luck means no doubt away at anfield or something

Really the best Schar moments should have been all times he had head injuries 5 minutes in, looks like he's going off and, stays on and is unbeatable

Eddie Howe: watched the Man Utd game in hospital (Tindall)
Tiresias replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
What even is Havertz? I wonder if he is basically an old school no 10 or second striker who needs to be playing just off someone and why he doesnt work deeper or solo up front, but even then, where is the goal and assist return? I know he was good in Germany and sort of scored important goals if not many for Chelsea but I really don't understand, he's like Ratface Bruno without the end product -
I actually posted it more about if it had been elsewhere reported that they have revamped the medical department due to the crisis and brought in a well respected psychiatrist, however had comment saying Howe was a bit unsure about the latter sounds like. Think first sign of any tension (which may be vastly overstating it) between Ashworth and Howe, though if the Psychiatrist is as well regarded as said hope Howe can make use.

Ok the talk of them being underwhelming i am wondering if it's similar situation to Burnley, they are trying to play out from the back and play patient good football but it just the difference between leagues has just ballooned and it looks so unconvincing one level up particularly at the back
-
You're probably right, and it'll be terrible

I think it was the stripes are thinner than last time we played? Did seem especially bad even on the big pub screen and I'm only in my 30s. Obviously you can tell quickly but it's the split second identification that sometimes was little off

Was daft like, feel for any colour blind fans, albeit i was going just on the shorts at times

Not sure quite the right place to post but seems to be this guys doing, has this stuff been reported widely? (From the Guardian match report, Louise Taylor) https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/jan/06/sunderland-newcastle-fa-cup-match-report

I can't get over the Ballard penalty foul, in real time I knew he was going to commit a foul, and then watched back it's so obvious "i'm just going to level him" went through his head and a whole sprint where anytime could think 'actually he's at a bad angle i just need to push him wide' but no just follows through with the push
-
Bruno "I told you I told you" haha
-
I disagree a bit, they do play it out from the back in the league more than most, they've been trying to play better football and why they've come closer to promotion. I don't think you should super change how you play for cup game against better opposition, but i was not surprised with a general lack of intensity of thought they'd be well up for it and sprinting to close us down all the time and hitting us on counter, but they never really did anything convincing
-
Makes a mockery of how sure i was off humiliating defeat lol
-
Bruno got player of the match, can't argue, though feel if Joe had survived the full match would likely have been it
-
Dummet absolutely loving it lol
-
Cool as ever Isak
-
Most could see it coming a mile out pen of all time
-
hahahahahahaha
-
They maybe should ahve scored there, waaaay too much space in front of our goal and then ref buying the most obvious dive of all fucking time there
-
Gordon got Bruno booked there from stupidity
