old trafford reffing lol

Well if Boehly gave them £100m or something totally in character
-
It's a bit odd because I think we ought to get a midfielder who can slow game down and control stuff even if just to be subbed up when we have a lead we need to hold and the players are running on fumes. A little bit of me wonders though if it was like Thiago at liverpool who certainly improved them and they came close to the league and yet klopp's best liverpool side was probably when had none of that passing and was just all out all the time. Similarly we may dilute Howe's pressing game, and yet I feel it is our clearest weakness, we need to be all out full press and if we're huffing a bit we get sloppy.

I do agree, but stadiums do have ghosts, their history should have a little weight and equally i dread the day every stadium visited is hyper modern spaceships all surface and no feeling
-
well duuur though does imply lascelles is out
-
oh i agree it's just equally going to make us an easier sell to players other clubs are sniffing around
-
Equally we become more attractive to players, champs league quality players are super expensive still but there's no premium for convincing a player to walk away from european football, players will look at us and think maybe can win something with them
-
Well yes but if we sell him he does need replacing. If we were only getting £20m for him he could fund only a speculative purchase rather than a definite upgrade. He's contracted till 2026 so hardly like he's going to go cheap anytime soon, another year of howe coaching may add value more than anything. If someone came in with £35m+ i'd maybe be a bit tempted, but I would be led by Howe's read on Maxi, does he want to go? Does he want to stay then why risk replacement? If we need to sell to buy that is a slightly different matter. I'd find it horrendous selling any of the players who could command much of a fee at this point to be honest.

It is daft but it's a free hit for Lampard to rebuild his reputation isn't it, he either does ok, which may persuade a minnow of a club to take a chance on him, he does terribly, in which case he's probably no worse off than now when he's been binned off as a premier league coach, or he wins the champions league by fluke (chelsea fucking love doing that don't they?) in which case he will inevitably get given the job at chelsea then get a massive payoff in october when reality has sunk in that he's not good enough. For chelsea guess appeals to the fans to buy in, he'll be probably ok at motivating dressing room but how he's going to parse the enourmous squad. Tactically he will be hopeless but that may be a relief from Potter's overthinking. I predict he will get some results but lose the big games badly, everyone will shrug and proper operator will come in in summer despite calls from media shouting for him to be given the job permanently for no reason. Boehly may relent, he does seem an idiot. There is clearly decent coach willing to jump on board late season, what is in it for them? Another two months out of work isn't going to diminish their reputation too much but two months crashing and burning in a dumpster fire may do.

Unless Maxi is going to be genuinely unhappy, and he has to accept he will be rotated in and out especially with europe, I would definitely want to keep him. Howe is doing wonders, why can't he get Maxi to be consistent? He seems to be really buying in at the moment, and answering critics who don't think he works hard enough in games

Genuinely looking forward to having final score on in the background while doing stuff, sick of the tv games!
-
Worth noting how many of those goals were from us high pressing, midweek, 3 days after last match. If anyone wonders why Howe needs players to commit to being ultra fit that is why
-
Just unbelievable player, just ludicrous transformation
-
Wtf is this +26 goal difference, feels weird lol

man u win, booo

WHAT A GOAL JOELINTON GOD

Lesser spotted Manquillo

Burn and the coaching staff clearly laughing at the funny goals tbh lol

FFS got what we deserved

I am not sure his relative width concept (if i understand it properly, may well not!) would yet fly in this league, there's too much speed and width still (it is noticeable that Guardiola very consistently has been winning leagues with wide attackers who stay wide) it would end up with some hefty losses on the counter. I dunno Nagelsmann shouldn't be dismissed he has achieved good things but like Klopp had 7 years at Mainz, Guardiola had time with Barca B, can't help but feel he will get once more chance with an elite team before he has to retreat and rebuild his reputation somewhere like Spurs. Going to chelsea will fast forward that.

I give anthony slightly more benefit of the doubt that plenty players have taken a while to show full potential in a new league, there is significant possible improvement, but right now looks pretty crap tbh
-
Well not unfair and think you're right actually Murdyk and Fernandez and the like could work under a super technical manager, they have just kinda bought badly and disperately, they lack important parts of a functioning team. I was not thinking quite straight
-
Was never going to work, sorry managing a big ego squad like chelsea is a different job than managing an underdog side with no expectations. This is not to diminish doing the latter, as embarassing as it must be for him how great brighton have been since he left he did a great job. No doubt Potter has fantastic attributes but I don't think there is a more difficult dressing room traditionally than the chelsea one, and it stays as such due to the ludicrous spending policy. IF they wanted to become a team focusing on playing style they should have given potter a sympathetic sporting director who will work with him on targets and built a team around him, rather than super stars. But that doesn't bring in the marketable money. They will bring in Naglesman i suspect who will do the same thing as with bayern in that do ok for a while then lose the dressing room, cos thats what dressing rooms at these clubs do, they have won everything, the manager who comes in hasn't so why should they listen to him? Zidane would be a sensible shout for them but doubt he'd come

I guess long run Nagelsman to Chelsea and Potter to Spurs? Feels about right. Rodgers will end up at west ham
