  1. If he can replicate that pass with some regularity he will be huge asset. He has the skill, he's got the workrate howe wants now it's about now getting that end product
  2. I'd maybe argue there are fair share, but probably in line with everywheres coefficient of morons
  3. Yes agree plenty of players will go to Saudi and i think there is some nonsensical crap posted about them being greedy for doing so, of course it is going to be attractive. It's the you guys are all racist bit lol
  4. it is disgraceful and no player should have to put up with it, i wouldn't even blame players for leaving the league over being abused at all, it's just detached from reality. yeah there is a lot of racism still going on agree with above, it's more I object to being lumped in with secretly not wanting black players in the country ffs.
  5. There has certainly been an unpleasant and unwanted rise in racism in recent years driven by wankers who should all be shot out of cannons, this is a long way away from suggesting a) all england fans secretly want this (albeit yes i got somewhat alienated from england due to prevalence of those sort of fans, but Saka and co have brought back some love to it all) and b) all non-white players are going to leave imminently.I think the racist cunts are by far the minority but also unfortunately very vocal. Social media is a hell hole if feels society is being sucked into, i am all for bombing twitter from orbit If sustained racial abuse continues and isnt addressed then who could blame them but with some hope and some love they won't win.
  6. I mean Liverpool just paid the release clause, we can't afford to do that. We'll find someone else
  7. Yes there will be sales at points to fund stuff especially while our commercial revenue isn't up to snuff but long term the model will be closer to Liverpool's than a selling club like Dortmund. They've kept hold of the big assets like salah and vvd. Arguably they should have sold more than they have to refresh the squad. Ultimately the squad has to change and turning this team we all love into the next one is howes long term challenge
  8. Honestly nation states should not own football clubs it's ridiculous they're sports clubs should be for the community not to advertise even a nice benevolent country like Iceland or something. Too much money all round
  9. My stance is I'm not going to pretend I'm comfortable with the whole thing or i have any good answers but i do think the premier League would be better without states owning clubs and indeed sensible ownership structures all round, but i have no say in who owns my club so will enjoy what i can. What i won't do is become an unpaid pr man for Saudi Arabia and pretend they're great and anyone who says different is against us. I just want is run sensibly with ambitious i don't care if that means playing along with ffp for however long. I will criticise or owners for crap just as it should be called out anywhere. I wont for a moment begrudge anyone in Newcastle choosing to not give a shit and just enjoying the ride, good the area needs it
  10. Mount is young, english talent in a clownshow of a club. Absolutely no problem at that price, wages seem a bit much but very good signing for Man U imo, and how on earth are Chelsea letting him go? Madness
  11. I've softened a little on him, but only a little, purely on ok that season finishing 5th was a decent accomplishment albeit the squad was good. He was self absorbed, lazy and became just another apologist for the regime but I just don't think under Ashley we would ever get any better than that. I do think under Rafa for a precious final 6 months we were better than we ever were under Pardew but the league was harder and the players worse. I also remember that half way through that one good season I was fuming at Pardew, thought we'd never achieve anything and then things suddenly seemed to click and we went on a ridiculous run. Time passing just meant all the visceral annoyance is gone, but still loath the likes of Kinnear and Carver. (Not including Bruce cos recent enough anger hasn't subsided but he is surely the actual nadir)
  12. Should i pay more attention to the general chat section, i never really bother
  13. Yeah howe says he joins in but usually loses badly or something
  14. I honestly wonder if the plan is to build a super modern impressive training complex with a decent sized stadium for the women's team, then play there while rebuild happens. Puts it all years and years off in the future but may be sensible.
  15. I would be happy for st james to be demolished and rebuilt, i would want it to be distinctive in design, but I am really against it being moved. No idea waht we'd do in the meantime of the rebuild mind. Moving it from atop the hill though to me is a horrible idea. It's the heart and soul of the city.
  16. Helps being subsidized by our taxes lol
  17. Burn clearly can be upgraded but is invaluable for being able to ably play left back or centre back and a leader, he doesn't seem dumb enough to think more talented left backs won't come in ahead of him and that he will still be invaluable and the fans will still love him. He will continue to live the dream Having said that it is always harsh to judge a full back for struggling against one of the leagues best players. Saka will cause the best problems.
  18. Toon-ali Toon-ali sport washing oooover us
  19. How about we just build our commercial revenue up so we can spend like the others. It protects us if saudi arabia lose interest or get banned for some reason if or club actually generates it's own income
  20. I know the whole i am true football fan and completely clueless about football lol
  21. This is not too defend romano transfer journalism is all kinda a waste of time but i love how some journos report on a bit of rumour so get mocked for getting things wildly wrong then when one reports when something is confirmed and nearly done they get called tap in merchant. You want someone who can accurately predict transfers from afar? Consult a psychic, transfers are only near confirmed just before they happen

    sunderland

Don't agree either, sunderlands team did play some decent stuff for the division hendrick had absolutely nothing about him here, wouldn't be surprised if championship is too good for him too

    England

Just watched the highlights this morning, we should be beating North Macedona 7-0 so nothing to get excited about but Saka's second was pretty special. On Southgate I can see both sides, but I am not sure on the alternatives. Potter is going to stay linked I think despite his reputation being a bit tarnished, but I think he would need a lot of time with the players you don't get in international duty, and then I don't particularly like his style of play either, it's just as dull. Can Southgate win something by just being a lovely man? He is way too over fond of Maguire which is baffling somewhat. He has certainly got the team all in great spirit and togetherness and there is value in that. I just wonder if he needs to be there for the vibes and hire someone to do all the tactics for him.
  24. Are they collecting forwards who do everything but score?
