Kane would be daft to trust a competent manager appointment would guarantee much, probably still wouldn't last long
-
Why would we sell Wilson man? He's a hares breath away from scoring 20 premier league goals, his value due to his age won't be astronomical and to sign a young forward with same output will be astronomical
-
I know, I should just stop arguing a bad position really

"Can I book Bruno's dad to give me a ride? No need to go anwyere we can just drive round Jesmond for an hour while I tell him how much I love his son that's all"

Still can't believe this guy plays for us, somehow still completely mad. This is like if we hadn't missed out on Modric...
-
And with our FFP issues we shouldn't allow ourselves to get fleeced.

I suspect ASM will be sold this summer tbh, kinda hope i'm wrong but don't think he's really Howe's cup of tea. I am very sad about it. if were up to me though I would basically judge, does ASm want to be here and be in rotation but not guaranteed starting? Were I Howe i'd have a proper chat with him end of season on if he will be happy and committed as a squad player (with plenty of chances to play with europe) or do you want to be the star player at another squad? If the latter appeals to him more, sell him, no reason to keep hold of a player who is going to be unhappy. If he wants to fight for starting place and does (as I emphasize i think he has) buy into the squad ethic, then absolutely keep. No need to overcomplicate it.

To clarify, I basically agree, it's more just on principle Champions League should be the champions, never going to happen, and probably a good thing. I do actually like seeing the Bruge of the world do a bit of giant killing now and then in it, but bit of me also thinks, knock out only, only a few, then there would be real bragging rights for winning it. It's definitely a nonsense mind.

I am not sure about rumours of Tierney to us purely because I can't see Arsenal selling to direct rival for champions league spots
-
Showed amazing tactical discipline from the players and showed the value of the high physical demands of Howe's style. I suppose the payoff can be seen in Willock's injury, and it certainly is a high risk tactic. If the press isn't effective and Brighton passed through it it would expose the backline. Great work all round.

Didn't win did they? It's a tough game.

My idea goes sort of the other way, and will never happen, and is ruined by the fact man city win the league every year anyway, but i think champions league should be just for the champions really. Maaaybe allow cup winning teams in to. Knock out only. Brutal tournament of just the best of the best teams. Then Europa league takes the next 4 slots in table, and conferance league next 3 or something so plenty of european footy for teams of all sorts, but champions league is very exclusive. Never going to happen, and yes rather rubbish in current state where the number of teams that will realistically win the title is very narrow

Yep absolute no go for our team even if wages weren't a problem. He's got all the talent, maybe needs a coach to put an arm round his shoulders (Eddie maybe could but no need for the gamble), or go to a 'smaller' team where he is the standout star and doesn't have to worry about rotation that occurs at the clubs he's floating between (He will definitely end up at PSG btw, where he will cause a fuss) I actually have some sympathy for him, clearly he doesn't suit the super club model and should be star somewhere more modest but no doubt his agent is carting him between the clubs that pay agents the best, albeit no doubt Cancelo will get well renumerated for this all

Great season by Willock, still areas to improve but contributed plenty and glad he pulled out of his slump in form. A very Howe midfielder.
-
willock obviously, cant imagine joelinton not playing unless his legs have actually been detached
-
Feels almost like isak coming back and immediately being great lit a bonfire under Wilson's arse and good for him incredible in ways i didn't expect of him
-
Nah my current theory is double pivots are the devil and I'm glad they're out of fashion. I agree he should be more advanced but stick with classic 4-3-3 formation, no going back to 4-2-3-1s
-
Still can't believe seen him lose his rag mind, something wrong about that
-
Miggy complements him so well. Murphy stepped up excellently but can't match Miggy's ability to be everywhere at once
-
Can he get to 20 goals this season? Hope he does
-
Absolutely brilliant performance all round. Had to dig deep, dragged ourselves hopefully over the line now
-
Willock hamstring gone
-
Right cunts these Brighton players
-
We've missed miggy on right flank as good as murphy has done good work rate let's trippier off hook
