I don't really disagree with any of that, martinez would be a great signing for them. Yes very good tally of how much they've won, tell me they're as impressive as when they had tevez rooney and ronaldo in their front line when actually watching them? I don't care how many points they've collected, this isn't a 'classic' side, the competition is poor this year, us and city are the only ones who've really given them a kicking, more teams should have managed.

Second season of Man U getting the job done without being impressive. Look at their teams in the seasons they lost to Arsenal or Mourinho's Chelsea and it rather shows there has been a dropping off in quality of the competition. Mancini needs to go if City do fail to win the season, hasn't anything left to hide behind. Anyhoot rather besides the point. Reckon united could rather do need a new midfield, and their eyes are less on cup than on the champions league. Ferguson has said as much, that they can't compete in europe with what they have. Tiote I don't know if he was sure there was a rumour they were sniffing around. Chelsea main threat, but they can't offer reliable champions league footy neccessarily anymore...

Can see both Chelsea and Man U wanting him, not sure either will have the cash lying around though. I think we could keep hold of him, but dunno if he wants to go...
  4. That's basically the liverpool equivalent of that 4 year plan QPR documentary ;D

If we keep up our scouting policy, not especially bothered, if we can sell tiote for loads and bring in 3 or 4 bargains in return I'm happy, as long as 1 or 2 come good. I'd rather we can hold onto players (think we're actually in a strong enough position to hold onto Tiote, he has 4 years yet doesn't he?) but as long as no more repeats of selling without replacement happen, we can do well with our scouting.

Jonas is in ninja mode queue invisible performance...
  7. to be honest i think strategy should be get ball to ben arfa, ben arfa to run at carragher, carragher to shit himself etc etc
  8. Awful, fingers crossed for the recovery
  9. how can simpson not be happy? he's played every fucking game
  10. love that they're saying that MON now knows he needs to replace most of Bruce's players can't wait for MONs famous transfer policy to kick in!

liked vaughn before he went to sunderland...
  12. Best guess is Pardew thinks squads a bit thin for the run in, players are tired from the length of the season so injuries are going to happen and rather desperate to get 5th. We do have a reasonable shout to get 4th if Spurs form continues to be so poor and Chelsea similar. It's a long shot but the players should be playing for that.

I liked the guardian's description that he basically ignored olsson. It was just so brilliantly placed that it was almost like it was a tap in for him
  14. I think there is a very good line for critiquing the Muamba reaction from football, but that's done incredibly badly. Think this piece was pretty well thought through http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2012/mar/21/fabrice-muamba-self-congratulation But it was obviously horrible for the fans there, and obviously terrible for Muamba, and great he seems to be recovering though. That fails on being a sharp comment and on being funny. To elaborate a bit, think all the self congratulation over what is still a horrible thing went a bit out of hand, all the congratulation really belongs to the fantastic medical team.

He's not going to have great goals to mins ratio lol, better question is how often is he going to score and make assists when he's playing like this? Hopefully he's going to show mr Racist Cheating Hit the Woodwork Suarez exactly how to be a tricky no 10 type player.
  16. this. Hate to set up overly defensive and just get nothing from it when we concede anyway and don't have much to offer going forward. If Carraghers playing just get Ben Arfa to run at him and he'll probably just give up and do one of his customary own goals. Gotta make sure not too much space left behind, hope ref doesn't pay any attention to suarezs theatrics.
  17. He just said "I pinch myself every time I see myself on MOTD" Oh dear, he knows!
  18. That run for the third goal round behind Ba, I would have thought he was going the wrong way, like he knew exactly what would pan out
  19. there's not much fight in the Liverpool team, they can score goals (is bellamy injured though, or Dagliesh mad very mad just a random series of decisions with no logic behind them whatsoever) but if we can get a goal past them or two on their present form should be alright. They have flashes of very good play, but too many players messing it up. If they go ahead first think they'll win though.

Pardew likes hard workers over skillful players more than I'd like, but to take this to the extreme and say Pardew was desperately slamming the door for ages...seems a little OTT. It was exasperating when Obertan was starting, but he wasn't playing his best earlier and needed to be eased into the team set up. He also needed to be fitted around a team that was scoring plenty earlier in the season and wouldn't want to mess that up, it was perhaps in our dips then that he panicked a bit and avoided the issue.
  21. I assume Pards thought Colo tends to power through injuries and they go away usually normally and thought Colo might be wrong that he needed to go off.
