FYI the french media said a few months ago that along with Debuchy, Mbiwa and others he was one of the players we are scouting from France this summer. So there could be something in this and if he has handed in a transfer request then i dont think the price will be a problem and its funny Ben Arfa has been mentioned because his style reminds me a lot of him. Could play wide and centre like Ben Arfa and Marveaux so i would be quite happy if we signed him. And much more likely than the likes of Affelay.

From what i understand he's a winger and attacking midfielder ala Marveaux and while he would probably be above Obertan in the pecking order i doubt Obertan would be off as we need depth ( unless ofc Obertan expressed a wish to leave)

So do i, but i think we will look for a less known option for that " diamond in the rough" sort of player maybe like Yacine Brahimi.... who as mentioned above has asked to leave his club and handed in a transfer request and we have been linked with him many times and french media seem to think he's a target. That sort of signing is more likely IMO and we sign more established players in defence.

Playing Milan would be a cracking friendly though mind.

Yeah, as long as you have 3 or 4 players in your team with genuine leadership qualities it doesnt matter.... If we look at the Spain team that won the WC they had leaders all over the pitch, thats how you win things ( along with having genuine quality ofc)

Tbh all 3 of France's CB's are big aggressive bastards.... Carroll would have a job on getting the better of any of them.

Italy are not worse than us IMO far from it, they have the players to go far its just Prandelli is a complete and utter nutjob. Plays a RWB ( who cant defend) at RB, takes no decent LB's in the 23, plays a Montolivo at AM when Giovinco and Di Natale are on the bench. Not to mention when he actually bring those players on he takes off De Rossi and Pirlo so the midfield is f*cked. He's clueless, if it continues like this they wont even get out of the group stage but they should do well if someone who actually knew what he was doing was in charge.

Quite shocked Italy didnt take him tbh, they have not got a decent fullback in their whole squad.... mind you this is Prandelli we are talking about.

Pirlo is just fantastic..... Italy playing some good stuff in the final third ( i still think Montolivo over Giovinco is a mistake though) Also i just realised something.... Maggio looks a lot like Debuchy lol and seems to run like him aswell Russia playing some equally good stuff aswell with Dzageov and Arshavin at the heart of it. Only some poor finishing is keeping this 0-0

I dont think its too far in any case when you consider the lack of genuine quality fullbacks around he has the talent and stature to get to the top of the game IMO..... He's clearly far away from that level atm but the potential i see in him from an attacking standpoint and a defensive standpoint says he can get to the level that he was hyped to begin with....( well maybe not new Maldini but a bloody good attacking fullback)

It's Inter mate they have a track record of getting rid of talented youngsters..... but yeah he did struggle with injuries for a while. Hopefully he is past all that.

Yeah i would'nt want Kalou as Ba's replacement but i would'nt mind seeing him as addition to Ba.... Shame about Vertonghen btw, he deserves better than them

This basically, i never understood why he is rated so lowly by most people..... he seems to do well everytime he plays for Chelsea sometimes overplays a bit but seems to do most things in the final third well and usually scores important goals some of which have been key to Chelseas success. I would be happy if we signed him as long as the wages are reasonable.

He's more of a right sided forward imo. Basically yeah, but saying winger is just an easy cop out for me

Not sure how that'll work, Parker will have to be a 1 man midfield. I can see us relying on Rooney dropping deep when he's back to have any presence in middle of the park though I am also pretty certain Young and Walcott ( especially) dont have the work rate and discipline to play that deep either. Also dont like the idea of Gerrard fullstop lol even though he will certainly start, another thing iam quite confused why Leon Osman has never been given a chance at any stage. He's a lot better than half the s*** that gets called up. I have a feeling Fenham's quick mock up wasn't meant to actually be an accurate depiction of how the team would set up like. Good point but at the same time with Parker and Gerrard's positions its the only way you could play it in such a system so yeah....

If Amalfitano is half as good as Douglas is hyping him to be then i think we will be alright
