While i agree with you, there's a systematically problem with Madrid in general that you can't really play James and the front 3 and be a balanced team. You could if the front 3 played together and not as individuals but alas they don't. That's without getting into Isco, both Modric and Kroos are probably better when they are not protecting the back 4 but not as 10s either. It's just poorly built from a team perspective, the fact Ancelotti got it working at all speaks to how brilliant he is really.

The wins against Liverpool and Spurs might have sealed McLaren's future here for the rest of the season unfortunately. Arsenal are a funny side. He's a very good striker if you don't want to compete at the top level. Good enough in a team fighting for the title imo, easily so. I agree that he is, if he's 2nd choice in a team then that team is CL competing level IMO. Only the likes of Barca, Bayern, Real, Juve and PSG would have him on the bench.
