Decent read tbh i agree with him about the transfer window imparticular. About Douglas i think that was more about wages and agent fees than the actual transfer itself which i can't see changing much in January. Interesting that he reckons Debuchy was an extra 2 or 3 million too, i was led to believe it was less than that.
  2. He's won as many tackles as Ben Arfa has completed dribbles I think it's quite obvious that more often than not in 4-4-2 his role is different and is more of a defensive player intercepting passes, breaking up play. It's not what i want to see him doing but he should still be praised for his defensive work as much as his passing and offensive play. You would soon notice it when he's gone, the defensive work he does each and every game goes unnoticed IMO. As poor as offensively he's been so far this season, his defensive work still remains to be top notch.
  3. I agree with this. I think Tioté help Cabaye to be good. That´s why I rank him more important than Cabaye. I don't remember seeing Tiote playing for France at the Euros or at Lille when Cabaye was their playmaker and one of the most important players that led them to league and cup or the season before that when Cabaye was well into double figures for goals and assists. Must have passed me by though, as clearly Tiote was there at all times to hold his hand.
  4. Walcott is effective as one dimensional as he maybe he is effective, as is Lennon etc etc..... Obertan with all his pace is not effective. As for the Jonas comparison, while it's true Jonas doesnt have much end product but Jonas makes up for this by having stellar work rate, versatility, positional sense and so many other things from a defensive point of view which makes him invaluable.
  5. I never said you can't i was just saying the top teams don't usually use destroyer's implies that players like Tiote are not as necessary for them. It's Tiote btw
  6. Just watched it, he's so f*cking good man

This. Finish 5th and sack him, get innnnn. Where did anyone mention sacking him? Being sarcastic mate, i just think he's done a fantastic job and the only real issue is playing football that pleases everyone over a long time span and now he has 8 years to do it and god lord knows we need some stability. I'm 100% confident that Pardew will get this team playing great football in the long term, i mean it's not like we have never played good football under him he has shown we are capable of it over a month or so last season so he is capable of it. I'm delighted with the news personally, sure if he cocks up in a couple of years then we will need to pay him off but i'm pretty certain Ashley isn't that stupid and there will be some clauses in there to protect us financially.
  12. Give him a 10 yr contract ffs.

  14. And against Spurs Chelsea Villa Everton Norwich which is hardly like he has been doing it against poor teams. i wonder how his shooting passing tackling and interceptions stack up against other wingers Whoscored reckons 2.2 shots a game(11), 1.8 key passes per game(9), avg passes 35 per game(175), Pass success rate 81% and 1.2 tackles per game ( 6) but has no interceptions. Not bad considering how deep he's playing compared to the likes of Hazard etc etc ( did not check Hazard's stats mind)
  15. Agreed, i don't think we will batter them though we have a habit of making games like this seem harder than they actually should be. We should win though. BTW i'd take Pogrebnyak as 3rd choice

    Papiss Cissé

My head and my c*ck would have probably exploded in unison tbh Anyway it was obvious he was just lacking form and if fit then Ba and Cisse should start most games irrelevant of system the movement causes such problems for defenders. Not to mention the fact we lack goalscorers anyway, we need at least 2 goal threats on the pitch at all times otherwise we struggle and it all looks a bit mundane. Be it if Ba is playing on the left of the 3 or upfront as a pairing as one occupies defenders and leaves spaces for other players. I know i said i'd like to see Marveaux as a rotation option in left of front 3 and i stand by that quite frankly but Ba or Cisse should'nt be dropped for him over an extended period unless we are looking for a containing job as he doesn't offer anywhere near as much going forward.
  17. Giroud's off the ball movement quite frankly is great he is constantly getting himself into positions to score but making a pigs ear of it atm. It will come, i personally would be more concerned if i was an Arsenal fan if he wasn't getting chances rather than missing chances.
  18. Definitely agree, well that and the fact Vuckic, Ferguson and Sammy have been very unlucky with injuries by comparison.
