It didn't work because we kept hoofing it to Cisse and he couldn't make the ball stick.... what the hell is a player like Marveaux suppose to do if he hasn't got the ball? Everyone was shite in the first half not just Marveaux, ridiculous reaction tbh. If the team actually gave a shit in the first half and tried to tackle and press the Everton players and pass the ball through midfield instead of completely bypassing it then he might have been effective.

Find the CL one a bit boring but this seems interesting, will definitely sign up.
-
Not to mention he's a class person with a f*cking ace smile.
-
Can't say i'm surprised at all, they brought some proper quality in and i had a feeling Bould might have some impact ( although not this big) and i felt Giroud would do better but still too many times i have seen Arsenal written off and too many times make the haters eat a huge slice of humble pie. Isco is class btw !

I have never not once seen Hatem dive for us, he might over-exaggerate contact once in a while but tbf who doesn't ? In any case over-exaggerating contact =/= diving. Also i might be bias, but i don't see any of our players diving that much.... we are men

Massive overreaction tbh, what is a player like Marveaux suppose to do if we constantly hoof to Cisse and he's not holding the ball up there's not much a player like Marveaux can do. Play the system we played last night in some games if Ba or Cisse cannot play and actually pass the bloody ball and i'm sure he would shine. Same goes for the system in general there is no point playing a system like that with small technical players if we are not going to pass through teams it's just a waste of time.

Newcastle United vs Norwich City - Sunday 23/09/12 @ 3pm

Hoping for a convincing win to give the team some confidence for the upcoming weeks. -
his through ball to Ben Arfa was class too
-
Also Agents need to be banned and then set on fire..... he was subbed once and we have 3 games in 6 days ffs. I don't see anyone getting on Ferguson's back when he benched Rooney or Mancini when he benched Silva. Stay out of it ffs.
-
The front 3 was constantly interchanging, said it before Ba's problem was confidence and fitness more than actually playing on the left. Also i'm aware we was 5th when we beat Villa but when we changed to 4-3-3 and went on that winning run we was 7th. Anyway it's not really the point, the club is more important than any one player and it was clear that at the time getting the best out of Cisse, Ben Arfa and Cabaye was better for the team than what was best for Ba. It's not like he was stuck out on the left wing all game with no freedom of movement anyway, he got into central positions consistently.
-
Was class in the middle, much prefer Simpson or Anita at fullback though. That lofted throughball to Cisse though Unbelievable how much he's improved.
-
Thought he was absolutely class last night and got forward well with some nice moments and excellent dribbling. Defending is improving with each week too, the main thing that needs marked improvement is the final pass or shot as he seems a bit timid in around the box atm but i'm sure that will come with experience.
-
Was class at RB and nullified the threat of Baines and Pienaar but at CM atm he seems to have not got use to the pace of the league yet. Until he does then he should play RB for me or at least have Perch or Tiote alongside him in the middle. Jonas, Anita and Cabaye was far too lightweight.
-
Because it was good for the team, that's 'how'. We were 5th before Ba got shunted out on the wing. We were hardly struggling. Actually we was 7th and it got the best out of Cisse, Ben Arfa, Cabaye and Jonas and we won 6 or 7 in a row, it was clearly what was best for the team at the time. What is best for the team is more important than what is important for one player.

Everton 2 - 2 Newcastle United - 17/09/12 - post-match reaction from page 57

Which is strange considering at Ajax he looked much more comfortable as a CM than a fullback, probably due to the pace of the league and frantic nature of it. Long term he will be a CM but for now while he's getting used to the pace of the league he should stay at fullback, or at least only play him at CM once Tiote is back. -

Aye i remember last year when we smashed Villa and Cabaye bossed it, Le Tissier was saying Villa had the better of it and had more of the ball too. When we had like 23 shots and 60%+ possession I don't mind Le Tiss when he talks about other clubs but when he talks about us i just want to mute the tv majority of the time. -
Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)
Mole_Toonfan replied to a topic in Football
He was the main difference being we just played better and stopped hoofing as much so he could get on the ball more. Still further forward than he has been in previous 3 games mind. -
I'd be happy with how we had it before Shola came on and after Ba came on. It wasn't really a 4-4-2 but it wasn't really a 4-3-3 either, we created a fair bit in that time frame and Cabaye and Ben Arfa wasn't all the way back in their own half. Happy mix tbh.

Didn't seem 4-4-2 to me till Shola came on though tbh, i saw alot of Jonas alongside Perch and Ba and Cisse didn't seem to be a strict front 2. I do agree though, as long as Cabaye and Ben Arfa have freedom the problems i have with 4-4-2 go away, but quite frankly if Cabaye and Ben Arfa have freedom it isn't a 4-4-2 anyway. -

Anyone know anything about this lot? can't say i have a clue personally. -
Why? i do agree atm Ba is in much better form and deserves the start over him but i'd still play the both of them.
-
Don't like saying this because the loyalty he has shown us over the years is immense..... But i honestly cannot wait till Krul is fit, would have saved both goals tonight IMO.
