Christ, he sees potential with the new owners that might elevate his profile and eases back in.
-
Why can't both points be valid?
-
Simple as that really.
-
No, it's your point. It might not be other people's points. I see just as many people saying it's immoral money as those saying the purpose is the difference.
-
I just think it might help the players transition. Some of them know their futures might be at risk, ripping the coaching setup from under them might be a bit much at the mo. We can't go in with just Graeme Jones in charge (assuming he wants it and that the Steve's would all fuck off). If Wilson is back and fit, we can get a result regardless of Bruce. But I'd personally prefer he was binned
-
Everyone is assuming Jones wants it, or he may be demanding a run of games rather than a one-off and the owners may not want that. Who knows? As fun as it is to say no manager is better than Bruce, it's not really true insofar that the players need someone in place. By most accounts he's popular so for team morale purposes it may be the easier option. He'll be gone as soon as they have a replacement. He won't ruin my buzz for the sake of a couple of weeks.

Club Secretary isn't necessarily as shit as it sounds mind you. For context, our Company Secretary is also the Legal Director. I think waiting to make sure we have a DoF in before the manager role is filled makes sense long term. Shame Bruce has left us in a slightly precarious position which puts a bit more urgency on it.

I almost hope he reaches 1000 games (elsewhere of course) just so that his record will be splashed about, highlighting how dreadful he is.

There really isn't anything wrong with pointing out other people for being hypocrites imo. Calling it "whataboutery" is just a a smug, patronising response in lieu of a decent argument. For clarity, we shouldn't defend KSA, but it's not our moral responsibility to make the stand now where others haven't.
-
In reality this will blow over to some extent. NUFC will be operated as a completely separate and independent investment entity with zero influence from KSA beliefs/laws - LGBTQ or women won't be banned from attending games, we'll get a women's football team, Amanda Staveley will continue to be the face of the consortium etc. Anything else would damage their investment which would go completely against PIFs purpose. Questions have already been asked to Staveley and she's answered. I'm sure they'll continue to be asked and she'll return the same message. As supporters, we should be doing our best to keep the ties to KSA to a minimum until the furore dies down.
-
Who do we think is making the decision on and how? I'd almost rather they put Jones in charge until they get a DoF in (assuming they go down that route) so they can work with them on a decision. Going to be so vital to have those 2 roles on the same page.

Supports Israel in its actions against Gaza The Iraqi war (let's not forget UK involvement) The absolute clusterfuck that is Afghanistan. All of which probably result in far more deaths and poverty etc than SA are involved in. Is what some people would say. Not me though, I don't see the point in any of these arguments to be honest. Shit everywhere frankly and most definitely in KSA.

Do the allowable FFP losses relate to each season in a rolling 3 year period or across all 3? Was sure it was each but seen some slightly misleading wording....
-
If the bridge is never gapped how will it ever change? PIF itself has 2 women in the senior leadership and have just worked hand in hand with Amanda Staveley on this very deal. That's progressive change that I bet wasn't there 15 years ago. I'm really not defending them as some of their actions are indefensible of course but without positive influence they won't change. I'm not suggesting NUFC will do that of course
-
I feel that if you've always actively opposed SA and what PIF has previously invested in, then I absolutely understand your genuine discomfort. I think there's a lot of outrage from people that had never previously given it a 2nd thought, and some people who are putting an anti face on now as it "feels the right thing to do" to make them feel better. Personally, the fact that the UK trade with SA and PIF have invested far more in to other mainstream companies without uproar is a legitimate argument in defence. By that, I mean if you were opposed to those before then that's fine, if you weren't then I find it a little hypocritical.

Always well reasoned and articulated with a few 'fucks' and 'cunts' thrown in for good measure
-
Guardian says nowt can be done about it (obviously) but they basically just want to vent as they only found out via media etc.

It's unbelievable Makes it all the sweeter mind you...

I'm really not au fait with the FFP rules etc, but even if infrastructure was included, then it's only the depreciation element that goes through P&L. So if you build a new training ground for 50m (totally made up), you could say that has a life of 25 years so you only recognise depreciation of 2m a year anyway. As I say, no idea what FPP monitors though!

Infrastructure was exempt unless rules have changed
