Yeah, one for the Twitter nonsense thread I reckon
-
Not many finished articles at his age and not going to judge him on a season with a relegated team with a supposed toxic dressing room. Don't know if he will prove to be part of our project yet but if Howe believes he can get something more out of him, similarly to JL and Krafth, then hopefully we'll see.

We're in the transfer thread, it's really not a big deal comparing transfer targets and expressing a bit of disappointment that we may end up with a choice lower down the list than we'd hoped. I'm still very much excited for the season and that won't change, but the transfer window has (to date) not been the wild ride I'd hoped for

James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)
Hhtoon replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Based on someone's info from the Leicester forum, they over extended their financials and due to no longer being in Europe they're going to miss FFP targets. So they need to sell to offset their expected losses. -

Saying something is "100%" implies he's ITK rather than opinion. He's 100% a stupid, nonsensical fucker. -

Maybe a case of cashing in now to replace him properly, rather than waiting a season until he only has 1 year left and struggling to get the right calibre in. -

Well it's obvious now in retrospect -
You're right, nothing to do with FFP. However, I don't think it's particularly worrying either. PIF are exactly what it says on the tin - an investment fund that will be expected to generate returns on investments. They will undoubtedly have measured up whether allowing one of their other non-investment vehicles (let's be honest, we offer other benefits rather than returns) to pay X amount of interest on borrowing against future guaranteed income, rather than using their cash on actual investments offering y return. I suspect y > x and ergo here we are. I'm sure when needs be they'll pump cash in, but they just don't need to in this instance.

Yup, you buy someone on a 5 year contract for 50m and it would always be £10m a year against FPP. Doesn't matter if you pay upfront, yearly, at the end, or when add-ons are due.
-
Not in accounting and FFP terms it's not. Nor in football matches where football is played, not this balance sheet/cashflow game that people seem to judge clubs on nowadays.
-
What's investing and losses got to do with it? This isn't Ashley FC anymore. Say he costs 30m at 6m depreciation over 5 years. You sell him in 3 years for 15m and you write off your remaining asset with a couple of mil released back to the P&L. That's not a loss. That's value for money. Then we buy a 60m player cos we'll be elite by then

Yeah, club controlling the narrative as they want. It's also why I'm dubious about the reported budget...why mention it at all?
-
Howe himself said about Bruno... “He is a defensive midfielder, but a creative one. The reason we signed him was because we loved his way of playing, his eye for a pass and composure.”
-
They were chanting about Staveleys looks in a friendly match that had nothing to do with us. Ergo they're cunts.

Martin Dúbravka (now playing for Burnley)
Hhtoon replied to Figures 1-0 Football's topic in Football
They don't have to stick with Darlow. Nothing to stop them spending the Dubs money on a new, younger keeper. -
Does it count as a transfer rumour if the forum has just made it up ourselves?

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)
Hhtoon replied to Miggys First Goal's topic in Football
Yeah, "his advisors have not yet wished to move forward..." Loads of reasons they could still be negotiating. More ££, assurances on playing time etc. Doesn't even mention him. Impossible to know whether he's keen or not based on just that. -

Well yes, that's how it works. But if I'm thick as fuck making random shit up in lieu of any actual info/facts, then those conclusions are usually also full of shit See Burnsie and that Sean on twitter for examples. -
He never takes any credit but always willing to put his hands up. It's absolutely refreshing after the smugness and slippery shoulders from the likes of Pards and Bruce.
-
Yup, suspect it will be along the lines of this. We can take fairly substantial losses for the next 3 years (or something) thanks to Ashley being a tight fucker, so absolutely have to take advantage of that free hit to kick-start.
-
Last time we'll likely ever have to worry about relegation again. Cheers Eddie

Yeah, reckon they've been waiting for the Championship to sell their stake as will be worth a fair bit more. They played a blinder to be fair (at the expense of the club).

Such self-important, condescending wankers "Dear FA/Wembley Can we remind you that such a lesser event as the division 1 play off should be a neutral affair (yes of course we will give you 4 x your average home gate and them just under 1.5 ) Can you also take into consideration that we are incapable, lacking in creativity and devoid of the funds to put on such rousing presentations at the start of the game that those nasty northerners are planning. (yes we take your point we will stop them from doing that, at the last minute of course to try and break their passion) And finally can we ask for a referee that is blind to our shithousery (we will see what we can do, good luck your presence in the championship is much preferred) Kind regards WWFC With thanks"

I like... "If they arent at Wembley they'll be glued to the telly no doubt. Their biggest game this season."
