Do we reckon Fraser wasn't training or he's just been shopped out of the pics to avoid another Scotland tantrum?
-
Put this in the EH thread but probs worth a post here as well.. "In 2018-19, Wilson and Fraser scored 14 and seven league goals respectively, directly combining for 12, making them the Premier League’s most effective attacking partnership that season" Could be a really useful player for us if he gets back to that form!

Oooh, yes please... "In 2018-19, Wilson and Fraser scored 14 and seven league goals respectively, directly combining for 12, making them the Premier League’s most effective attacking partnership that season"

Love big Joe L just leaning against the dummy. Want to hear a "wee man!" shout from Howe
-
I'm just pleased to have a manager who doesn't make me want to cry/vomit/rage to be honest. Hope it works out for us and him.
-
I'm looking forward to the SB soundbites in response to media links to vacant roles, claiming he needs time to recover after all the abuse he received before taking another role. I also bet he gets no actual approaches from anyone but that won't affect the the narrative.
-
Another proud Geordie hounded out. Won't anyone think of his parents???
-
Not everyone is though are they and he's getting abuse - don't care if it is the minority! Some people want to get rid on the basis of those 3 games as manager. Most of my post relates to his coaching so thought it was obvious that's what I was referring to. To be clear, his management has been lacking imo, but I don't see that as a reflection of his coaching or a reason to get rid. I'd like to know why he doesn't play Schaar, Fed or Willock - could be lack of fitness or attitude?
-
Why are we judging a coach on the managers role? Luton was sufficient to show it's not his forte. I'd be more concerned that he was a party to what seems a lack of fitness and training sessions, but without knowing the full facts I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that it was a SB policy - the fact that Jones immediately increased the days supports that. There were a lot of grim elements Vs Brighton but even if he's started to repair some of the damage from Brucey(fitness etc) then hopefully it's a better platform for Howe (if ) to build on...
-
FFP is over a rolling 3 year period so to get the benefit of the Ashley barren years I think they'll spend a bit heavily than that if they can/if we need. I'm sure there's a bit of brinkmanship - there's going to be a PIF "tax" anyway so suspect they'll downplay any budgets.
-
I do find some of his digs at Bruce a tad hollow. Surely if he wanted he could have had them in for extra days training even if Bruce wallowed at home chilling. But who knows what happened behind closed doors, happy if Howe wants to give him a role.
-
Seems a decent guy, happy for him if he gets to stay on in some sort of role despite his obvious managerial limitations. Dunno why people have to be such dicks about him tbh. Who the fuck else did you want to stand up when Bruce was sacked?
-
Frustrating end but surely/hopefully something there for Howe to work with.
-
Christ, at least see if it happens today before crying about it
-
If it did fall through, he's going to start getting a bit of a rep after the Celtic job as well
-
I assumed be was unhappy the termination clause would mean no payout rather than he wanted to stay. If that was the reason of course
-
I think many of us, myself included, got swept up in the post-takeover excitement with manager choice. In reality we're not at that level yet and Howe could hopefully be the 1st step to get us there... certainly my preference over a Lampard or Gerrard appointment. We'll be able to give a little knowing nod to some of the managers we couldn't persuade to join us on our way up past them to the top!
-
Bit odd leaving a club 2nd in their Champions League group to join a relegation threatened PL team. Not complaining of course
-
Christ, they're going with "Talimags" over there They really are fucking weirdos
-
Fucking zoom, Google Meets man myself. Consortium out.
-
Very, very happy with that. Think PL experience was pretty critical in our current position and was worried we'd struggle to get a next level manager in but he ticks all the boxes. Of course have some residual resentment that they didn't listen to New Beginnings and just got any old one in for the 1st week for the momentum

Spurs have clearly been plotting in the background plus had probably done most of their homework during the summer recruitment process. Obviously going to make a quicker selection than us.

So might have rushing and picking the wrong person to be fair.
