Posted this in the takeover thread as parallels are interesting but also talks about their supporters group: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58736570 "An extensive survey of our members and the wider fanbase, carried out midway through the 2020-21 season, reaffirmed how supporters view a change in ownership as a priority if we are to rebuild the supporter experience at our club." Had a little gander at the supporters group: http://hammersunited.com/statement/ "We are a non-political group; our soul interest is the supporters of West Ham United. This is not a protest group. We are a supporter’s group. However, we coordinate protest where our members deem it necessary. At present, our members want us to prioritise continuing to campaign for a change of ownership. Whilst maintaining our campaign, we work with the club on other matters, on behalf of our members. At all times, our members decide our stance on campaigns and protest." Also from the BBC article : "But Paul Colborne, co-founder and chair of Hammers United- and who is currently banned from attending West Ham matches after he was part of a pitch invasion protest before a game against Burnley in March 2018"

- PIF still in - Arbitration 3/4 January for a week - If we win arbitration then takeover is approved - Other credible bidders (likely offering less due to market valuations) - PIF may not pay the original value for reason above. Hence Ashley "loss" What more do you want man??

West Ham United protesting against their owners. Even though things are looking rosy at the mo, they're standing their ground against the historical issues. Good on them I guess... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58736570 What I find most annoying though, isn't that they can organise a protest, but that Rio F is backing them and some potential new owners. What happened to "it's their club and they can do what they like". Fucking hypocritical knob.
-
Offered arbitration didn't they? And then PIF officially "pulled out".
-
If people do find WhatsApps too new and scary, I'm happy to add them to my takeover MySpace page.
-
Isn't the point of them mentioning the importance of analysing the market that they may be credible now for Xm, which is what the club is currently worth, but actually that's less than the PIF agreed 340m? Edit - I'm only going off tweets etc so may have lost context
-
He'll fly out Sunday morning so he can smash out a couple of airport full english breakfasts to kick-start the holiday.
-
Nobody knows of course. But I think he might be looking at a team that finished 13th under Rafa who had just signed Almiron, then added: A 40m striker ASM >20m Wilson >20m Fraser (assuming Howe was a fan) Willock 25m Got some youngsters who have displayed some talent under a decent manager - Longstaffs/Lewis Then finished 13th and 12th under a fucking useless mess. Surely he'd be thinking he could work and improve on that?? Plus as much as it doesn't feel like it to us at the mo, NUFC are a "big" club.
-
I expect the NUST to be doing it's best to keep both sides happy. With a decent ownership/football association this would be worthwhile but in the present circumstances it's fairly academic. In which case I'd rather a stronger stance personally. The protest health and safety assessment was embarrassing as fuck mind you.

NUFC costs him nothing year on year, but the additional 50m sale price plus potential opportunities of selling to PIF, assuming it gives him/SD an "in" to an overseas market, is significant. Why would he not wait a year or 2 to see what happens with the legal action - the PIF deposit essentially pays for it.
-
Best bit is that Bruce can't retaliate as they banned him.
-
The stark contrast of them fired Bruce for being shite in a lower league whilst we just let him try and keep us ticking over in the PL
-
I mean, 50k is quite significant. NUST have made them the priority and always have done. Not sure why people are so surprised by it year after year.
-
Need Alex Bruce with us ASAP.
-
You don't really have a right to reply I'm afraid. Half the problem with Twitter - peeps can write utter shite and there's minimal governance on it. You've also pretty much done the same thing by calling him out here when he won't read it. From your post, we'd all think he was a wanker, but we haven't seen what he posted and he can't defend himself so he looks "guilty". I mean, from experience there's a strong chance he was a dick but my point stands Basically Twitter is a shithole and not worth getting wound up by it.

"Having finished last season in 12th place in the Premier League, and in the top six of the form table over the final nine fixtures, the club at all levels maintains a strong belief in its current squad. We have a talented and committed group of players who have shown that they are fully capable of delivering" No mention or praise of Bruce here, in fact they seem to pointedly avoid referring to him directly. Hopefully all is not happy in paradise.

Out of interest what money to they owe? I'd assumed the deposit would have been paid up front.
-
Where precisely did he state this?
-
It's very much the managers fault for facilitating the regime.
-
He can only get it back by taking it out if the club which will.. A. Take years B. Devalue the club
-
Assuming he wants to put more cash in, which based on the lack of spending is debatable, to get that loan repaid he'd have to take the money back out of the club which reduces the value. Yes he could sell ASM or whoever, but that loses a valuable asset which reduces the price of the club. The difference to last time is that he actively wants to sell the club now. I'm not sure he'd have the desire to pump money in that he's not guaranteed to get back.
-
The same as he'd have to spend/fund to get promoted to get his 350m?
-
Who said they'd pay 350m for it?

I reckon Jones has some influence but Bruce is too arrogant to ever allow him full autonomy. Though just because Jones is talking to the team doesn't mean it's necessarily his message. Bruce has also said that Jones takes the forwards training and Bruce himself leads the defensive side - we've scored twice in 2 of our games so we can score goals, it's the goals we're leaking that is costing us. Either way, the setup is far from what's required for a PL team.
