Pulis record at WBA was shocking yes and he rightly deserved the sack, anyone no matter who you are if you have that kind of record you deserve the sack...Mourinho,Van Gaal,Ancelotti have all been sacked too for s*** records Rafa takes 1 point from f***ing 27 though and hes absolved of all blame on all counts Yes we are a championship team and f***ed up majorly in the summer because of such tight restraints but the players we did buy are absolute garbage and a complete waste of 30m quid and this lad Kenedy will be no different. Tart it up all you like but 1 point from 27 is a sackable offence imo Has Merino died and I missed it? Or does he just not fit your agenda? 1 out of 6....great Stop deflecting from the fact that your posts read like a daily mail comments section, by only mentioning the facts that support your agenda. For what it's worth: Atsu- perfectly good team player for the money Murphy - really needed proven not potential but the only bright spark out of the bad run. Suspect influence from above on that as potential profit maker Lejeune - yeah not been great. Might come good, who knows. Plenty of players have had horrific 1st seasons and then adapt. De Gea was a joke 1st season, Pogba average. Others - bargain basement that didn't come good. Merino - excellent, wish he'd never got injured. Fairly sure with him and Lascelles fit we wouldn't have tanked.

If that was your man point why didn't you say as such? No, I believe you read in facebook/twitter/SMB that he was rubbish and regurgitated it without knowing the facts cos you like to whinge.

When I feel bad about myself, I come on to this thread and some of the posters make me realise just how lucky and fulfilled I must really be.

The squad we have compared to previous years is the poorest by some distance. In the 2 relegations and other close scares, you could say we were too good to go down and it was mainly poor management that screwed it up. Even Ashley can see that this season relegation is a far greater risk and without big players to sell to help fund the losses, will cost him big.
-
If we were to get £30-40m plus a hike in the wage bill, then Rafa would keep us up. He had us on a run earlier with this poor squad so 3/4 1st team players should do it.
-
If he said that sort of stuff as our manager I'd be seething, but as someone else's problem it makes great comedy.

For me he kind of is to be honest. Partly because any criticism directed at him is diverted from where it truly belongs, but also because he's by a considerable margin the best manager we'll ever get under this regime. If we get taken over, he spends 50 million+ on new players and still isn't getting results then I might have a few words to say, but until then for me he's bulletproof. He’s not like no person is he is making some poor decisions and should be open to question about it. Everyone has sympathy with the restrictions the fat c*** has put to him but he certainly still isn’t beyond criticism when deserved. The team selection and tactics used in the last couple of months certainly deserves questions being asked. I keep saying he is not a god. Just don’t understand why there are many supporters seem disgusted when a managers decisions are being questioned when a total of 6 points out of 33 has been accumulated over the last 11 games surely any manager would be under the same scrutiny at any club given the same circumstances. That's not true though. I've not heard one media pundit question his credentials. Most seem to think the squad is championship standard and he needs to be given the money to strengthen to avoid relegation. Who the hell is talking about credentials i didn't even mention the media who in the main have not got a clue about Newcastle as a club or team. It's about the job he is currently doing and he is making mistakes with tactics and team selection - I would question anyone who can't see that. Yeah, I don't necessarily think this is the right job for him at the moment. He has trophies won off the back of his methods/recruitment and he hasn't been given the backing by Ashley to support that. From his perspective why should he change his winning formula to accommodate an oaf? He doesn't want Mitro or Mbemba for his reasons so won't play them, even though if he adapted they may be better than the alternatives. Of course, if the takeover goes through and he is given adequate resources then we, and he, will reap the benefits. Or he's just sh**e and we should get rid

Agree with this. We're in trouble and am concerned, but we had a good run earlier so still hope. Lascelles needs to return ASAP and then hopefully he can help firm up the defence. Merino needs to find form again and with Gayle and Murphy showing improvement then might have enough....obviously a couple of incomings wouldn't hurt!
-
I honestly despair you wrote that out as well. The guys a billionaire media mogul, not sure he goes about rustling up a couple of column inches for one of his rags. "This Desmond guy or whoever he is" Pretty sure it's been established that's his name
-
If that is the case then why wouldn’t PCP just agree a deal now to takeover at the end of the season, subject to us staying up? There are a hundred and one scenarios that could play out, we’ll hear something concrete soon though. Because they don't want to pay what he wants for a premier league NUFC. Their best bargaining is that we could be relegated so not worth the 350/400m. But yes, all just guess work. However, if this 250m is true, then I think they're undervaluing the club.
-
If that's the only offer then I reckon he'll gamble on staying up and stick the club back up for sale in summer. Maybe.
-
Some of his stubbornness can be frustrating and there have been some less impressive signings (he admits himself a manager does well to get 70% or so success), but if we get taken over I absolutely wouldn't want anyone else.
-
Maybe people will just call it as they see it? He was utterly diabolical at times and has improved considerably in the two most recent games. Unfortunately those people are often what is wrong with the modern day football supporter.
-
Our squad is weak, need a fit Lascelles and Merino playing. Think the leadership of the former and class of the latter should be enough to keep us safe. A couple of big January signings would hopefully make it comfortably so.

He had the hump because the ref (rightly imo) gave a foul against him on King i think shortly before his booking, he was still annoyed. It's daft because it was a foul. Never understand footballers going mental when they clearly foul someone and think they haven't. He was annoyed because the ref didn't give a foul after he went to ground very easily and the ref gave a corner. Ref was correct. I'm talking about Shelvey's booking, not Lejeune's mate Take it to the Shelvey thread FFS
