I'm a little surprised Rafa has allowed himself to be out manoeuvred like this. To have a £6m compensation written in with nothing about guaranteed backing/expectations seems odd seeing as he's already experienced the January debacle. Reckon a lot of fans signed up for the season on an expectation he must have been officially promised funds to convince him to stay.

Almost want it to be over now. Rafas in the right of course, but the media frenzy and the "will he, won't he" is just draining. Tell me how is a team that never played together with a few told they are surplus to requirements only 12 days ago meant to play together and want to put a good performance in etc? Seems to be a common thing that people are towing this line. I'm trying to recall his other incidents, the Lansbury incident, which was absolutely nothing, which was even overturned. Has he ever been sent off before that playing for us ? I can't recall ? The only other incident was the alleged racism, which was dubious at best and certainly not something that would be held up in a court of law. Not sure about this financial year malarkey. Players are assets on the balance sheet and amortised in to the P&L of which 2 weeks will be minimal. Cash is also an asset so net effect is 0 isn't it? Unless there is a benefit to a stronger cash position...

My point, for the dim-witted, is that it's more likely he's being ill-advised rather than having a bad attitude. I'll give him the benefit myself.
