  1. Unless we are talking a relegation that spells financial disaster and the possible end of our club as we know it, then its a no brainier for me. To all the people who would rather see us stay up, for what end? We are never going to challenge for the league, the best thing our club can hope for is to be winning trophies every now and then. We have not won a trophy for 44 years. Another 20 or so and we will be talking about a whole generation of fans never seeing us do anything significant. Very surprised by the poll.
  2. 3-1 loss, with Pardew suggesting that "we were a bit rusty compared to Arsenal, who had momentum with them being in action midweek".
  3. Whats wrong with it like? They used to stripes? Apparently. Not enough claret / wrong colour amber as well.

The 'best game' question in the Chronicle survey there tells you just about everything you need to know about our season.

I know most of the Q&A's on there in the past have been pretty well 'managed', but surely they can't avoid the tough questions now?
  7. I think more than anything - its important to let Pardew know how we feel; regardless of anything else. At the moment he just doesn't get it on so many levels.

Yeah, maybe he is just caught up in the emotion of it all but he sounded pretty confident he would be here next year.

Suggesting that if we were able to play our first squad most of this season "we would finish top 6 / top 8".

    Blaming the pitch again!
  11. Will it be his 200th appearance as well? EDIT: Seemingly yes.
  12. I really worry about our transfer policy this window. Can see us signing half a dozen British 'battlers' to regain some sense of identity or some shite.

I don't disagree with you, I just think if the crowd are against him he'll be less likely to be here next season. Yeah for sure. He has been incredibly lucky in that regard, with two away games and results going our way. Just about everyone around me at Liverpool walked out; would have received a pretty fierce reception if we had a home game the following week which also wasn't going to plan.

The crowd reaction against Arsenal will be massive for him. You think? Assuming we beat QPR / draw and Wigan lose to Arsenal; I can see it being a bit of a nothing game. Crowd uninterested, relief that this seasons over more than anything. Maybe I'm wrong. At the moment, I don't expect any overwhelming vocal reaction.

Last week I was one hundred percent sure he would be gone following this dire campaign. But the Wigan result - assuming we get a good result at QPR, has / will probably take some of the sting out of this month of bad results as we limp over the line. All the talk about Ferguson's legacy, having to deal with poor seasons early on etc as well. I suspect he will still be here come the first day of the season.
  16. That's from a satirical piece. Not real.

I hope, that all the fuss (deserved mind) about Ferguson and his legacy over the next few days will not cause a reassessment of what we need to do managerial wise on the boards behalf. Already on SSN they were talking about the early few years where he was so close to the sack etc.
  18. Handed a lifeline tonight. Need to make the most of it and beat QPR at the weekend.
  19. What's the best result for us tonight then?

Tell the fat c*** to lay off the pizza's. Saw him on the Quayside outside Gusto's earlier today actually.
  21. Just done the BBC predictor, had us winning at QPR, getting hammered at home to Arsenal. And strangely considering how they are playing, Aston Villa taking the final spot. Whatever happens, it's going to be very tight - and we won't be safe until the final day. :'(

While we are well within our rights to sack him (and hopefully we do) - Llambias said he could be afforded a "bad season", this has been a disastrous one. But I can only imagine the shite that would be printed in the papers, sacking last years manager of the year, flying in the face of earlier statements about stability etc.
  23. Elliott Y-M Taylor Colo Haidara Sissoko Cabaye Ben Arfa Jonas Gouffran Cisse That's what I expect. Maybe Simpson at RB.
