  1. Oldham - rumoured naming rights / sponsorship agreement with Sports Direct. Sheff Wed - look to be wearing Sondico shirts next year. Huddersfield - No doubt the 'European Team' will be Rangers.

    Players in public

A couple of years ago, I lived the student accommodation opposite St James' and used to occasionally pop into Shearer's. I saw him a couple of times drink so much that it astonished me that he could be on the radio the following afternoon seemingly fine. Was actually impressive. On a Monday night, he always used to meet John Anderson down there after he had finished on the BBC and they watched the MNF together. Usually it was literally dead, nearly always less than ten or fifteen people in unless it was a big game, John was always alright, but Mick was a total prick as you might expect shouting out stuff as if he was commentating. On about 80 minutes he used to get the bar staff to ring him a cab and then there was always some fuss. If the taxi parked on the other side of the street (as in facing the Sandman Hotel), he would just refuse to get in and make the taxi turn around so he didn't have as far to walk. He wouldn't even go outside, as he could see from his stool that the taxi wasn't parked where he wanted it. Sometimes this p*ssed the drivers off to the extent that he would have to call a different firm and you would have the same carry on. Used to think he was a proper big shot.

  4. I think the last week has shown how good a vehicle this forum can be for really pushing an agenda. If Pardew gets sacked in the next week or two, it will be no doubt partly down to the initiative of some people on here - and I applaud that. But unfortunately, even with Pardew (hopefully) gone, there is still so many problems that go so much deeper; Ashley is still going to be here, the lack of ambition and the the total lack of respect for the supporters. I just think anything that will help get our (and I know that's a dangerous word to use in the context of forums being a collective) views across the better. For example, would the 60th minute walkout been more successful if it had the N-O name attached to it?
  5. Did the Pardew getting booed to fuck whilst standing up translate well onto TV?
  6. Surely he couldn't survive EIGHT defeats in a row, could he?

    Hatem Ben Arfa

That statement will no doubt he used as yet another way to blame Hatem for tomorrow's defeat.
  8. It's a sad state of affairs that I'm actively rooting for us to get hammered tomorrow.
  9. He can deputise at left back can't he? No wonder he's a Pardew target.
  10. Whilst I wouldn't be excited by Moyes in the slightest, it would probably represent an astute appointment.
  11. Watch him jump into 'his' crowd after a 93' winner off Cisses backside.
  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1H8yqceC0Ww Not sure if Giggs.
  13. I hate to think how many goals they could / will put past us on the final day of the season.
  14. Pretty sure it's alright to post that here (Its an Official channel). But British Pathé have uploaded dozens of classic clips from the 20's through to the 50's; recommend checking it it out.
  15. I assume we will be hearing from him today?
  16. Got my hopes up there when Lineker announced that there. Thought he might have gone.
  17. Article has gone. What was the context? https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.chroniclelive.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Ffootball-news%2Fmike-ashley-derek-llambias-partying-6711335
  18. Plucky 2-0 defeat, prompting Pardew to praise the players determination to 'put in a good performance for the fans' after last weeks 'disappointment'.
  19. As a collective fan base, we have simply not done enough to force his hand. I just don't think as fans we have been very good at acting on this discontent in any meaningful way. Sporadic marches and the occasional anti-Ashley chant are hardly going to put him in a difficult position. Representations in the national media remain a significant challenge as well, at times we have been depicted as unruly and unreasonable - which simply isn't true. It's all well and good getting Ashley to sell up, but there also needs to be a buyer that can put the money in and take the club forward. Some of those depictions could put potential buyers off. But I really hope that the last few days mark a seminal moment and an almost fatal blot on Ashley's record sheet, although I doubt it.
  20. For what its worth, on nufcTV he reckoned today was "the worst day of my career" and offered an apology for the teams performance. More than can be said for Pardew.
  21. In all three interviews I have seen, he has appeared totally calm. Even unperturbed by the result. Going no where.
  22. Pathetic. Unbelievable interview.
