Article from earlier in the season: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/row-zed/here-stats-prove-jonjo-shelvey-6387956 Really does seem to have gone downhill very quickly for him at Swanea, can hopefully get back into form here....

https://twitter.com/138dotcom/status/686220356265312256 Thought he was pretty average myself. That's his problem, he's sporadic. tbf it's the 93rd minute and he looks paggered, hasn't played much lately...

It's almost as if decent players aren't interested in wrecking their careers by coming to play for a shambles of a club that's out of the cups and on the brink of relegation. Astonishing.
-
Good signing for them. Team in relegation fight acting quickly to bring in a goalscorer, what are they thinking??
-
Points from the last 18 games of the last 3 seasons: 2012/13 - 21 2013/14 - 16 2014/15 - 12 None of which would be enough to keep us up this year, without even considering the obvious downward trend. Whichever way you look at it we're fucked I reckon.
-
We're just fucked. Garde at Villa shows a new manager makes little difference if the club is rotten.

Love these match threads when no-one is actually watching

Arsenal haven't shown up

Hmm, quite like the look of that tbh -
He's lost 1 billion in the last month apparently: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/mike-ashley-loses-1bn-as-sports-direct-shares-crash-a6803521.html

They're going to be disappointed then - if Sheff Wed's reserves can beat us Watford's will have no problem at all. -

Since 2010 we've won 1 game in the FA Cup. Expect that proud record to remain intact this time tomorrow. -
This is what we've been reduced to, hoping the fat cunt has a bad day as his shares are down a bit.

It's almost as if they don't learn from their mistakes.

Guess who wins again? -
Pretty much sums it up. We're just not allowed to have nice things.
-
Aye, at least Lerner will sell if he gets a half decent offer, only way we're shifting our parasitic leech is in a coffin.
-
Just had a look at our fixtures - if we don't get minimum 4 points from our next 2 home games we're fucked I reckon.
-
He has to start against Watford, hopefully will play well enough that he has to be kept in the side for the Man Utd game.
-
I'm no Colback fan, but he's clearly better on the ball than Dummett. Dummett should be a backup centre back and that's it.
-
Not according to Swansea fans Them comments have spooked me like, I have to admit. NUFC fans of all people should know that what others think of your players is often massively inaccurate. I think Shelvey is just out of form more than anything. Wasn't that long a go he was top of the chances created list in the league, playing for England and having his performances highlighted on Sky/MOTD every week. He's a huge step up from Anita or Colback IMO, but I think he's the type who needs a really solid DM to cover him and I can't see us bringing in two in the middle. Aye, he has the talent if he can get into form, remember a spell last season where he was brilliant, got a cracking shot on him as well. Tiote and Shelvey could be an interesting midfield combo.
-
If we could sort out our central midfield then we have the option of using Colback at LB, at least he would contribute something going forward.
-
Aye, thought that was his best game for a while, him and Tiote dominated the Arsenal midfield
-
He's a finisher, when you create as few chances as us you need someone who puts more away than most - Mitrovic is getting chances (not many admittedly) and missing them all.
-
Pleased he's getting credit for today - a fit and in form Tiote greatly improves our survival chances, just need someone who knows how to use the ball alongside him...
