He loves a pass back to the centre halves mind, before spinning and looking like he might be off to look for some space but miraculously finding himself hidden behind an opposing midfielder. Has obviously heard of "give and go" but thinks that's the end of it.

Feel for him a bit as Gini goes wandering so he doesn't often have the usual full back out-ball up the line and he hasn't got the technique for anything much more imaginative. Looks more comfortable with Thauvin in front of him.

Our play always looks more balanced when he's wide and Gini central. Supports Dummett better too as he knows the role.

Knew we wouldn't win this one, actually pleasantly surprised we didn't contrive to lose it. Happy enough with 7 points from the last 3 games. Wish list for January - a dominant centre half and a central midfielder who can run, head, tackle and pass.

I'd love to, but I'm a man of principle. I'd hate me for giving in. I'd feel like a f***ing cheat. I've been so tempted lately though. Its hard. I just want to go, take my seat, sing a few songs, get behind the team and cheer a Toon victory at the final whistle... or even a hard fought, but fruitless defeat. How it should be really, how it used to be. I'll not take my kids, this isn't a football club for them to be brought up on. This isn't Newcastle United. I'll be a c*** to force this shambles onto them. I live abroad so don't get to go to many games anymore, have been to 2 in the last couple of seasons and found it to be nothing like I remember. There's no atmosphere, not the banter and laughs there used to be, and precious little singing. People sit looking bored and playing on their phones, maybe rouse themselves to boo a bit at half time before fucking off home early - you might find that actually going to the game might be the thing that finally kills it for you.

I like the idea of getting De Jong, Perez, Mitro, Gini and Sissoko all in the side together but think we need a better holding midfielder than Anita to make it happen.

Norwich and the mackems have both got a couple of really tricky away fixtures coming up, if we can get 3+ points from our next 2 the current bottom 3 could start to get quite far adrift.

Predicted before the game yesterday we would beat Spurs then lose to Villa - half way there.

Honestly think a cardiac event is our best hope. AshleyOut should focus on things like sending him loads of cakes and pizza deliveries and making sudden loud noises in his vicinity on a regular basis, see if they can hustle things along a little.
