I love managing them on FM. Kompany, Vermaelen, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Fellaini, Defour, Witsel, Mirallas, Hazard, Lukaku, Mertens, De Bruyne, Dembele etc.
that's a pretty good list tbf
Agree, from what I've read, LB wouldn't be his strongest position, DM playmaker looks very much like his role here imo.
Would allow Yoyo to play slighty more advanced with Mr T doing the damage in the middle.
Can see a 4-1-4-1 possibly if it required it although time will tell.
That and he didn't have a great record in his previous employment (certainly not in my mind anyway)
Plus the only "positive" that I could see with the sacking of CH was a "big name" manager coming, someone who had become free and fancied a crack at it and that's why CH got the boot.
Oh well ,you live and learn I guess
I don't think it's about being frugal as we agreed a price for him. If his value's gone up since then they have the option to sell elsewhere, but not many clubs want to pay £6m for a 27 yr old full back with no resale value otherwise he'd have been signed already.
Agree with this.
The longer this goes on, the less interested I am in seeing him here. It might be a good idea to see how young Tavernier goes in the position before shelling out shitloads on a 27 year old.

We were discounted for a long long period, but I kinda think that worked in our favour.
The "favourites" tag sits very heavy on us I feel so just going about our business relatively unnoticed was a dream tbh.
Nowt wrong with throwing in the odd bit of "direct" football now and again just to mix things up.
Much prefer playing out from the back personally but have no problem with the occasional direct approach if required.
