Just a side note on the value of the club here, but the entire squad cost £120 million. Compared to teams like Everton, Leicester and Southampton (who we should be at least matching, if not outspending in any normal, sane world) there is a £100-220 million deficit there ffs The amount needed to catch up on but also off the pitch, is massive.

It's incredible isn't it. All he has to do is give him some moderate backing now/in the summer and it would be a solid mid table club raking in the Pl money for years to come and he wouldn't lose Benitez or face any backlash. A bit of spending and he would make it all back and have an easy life yet he would rather go down the hard route. Beyond me what goes through his head Doesn't make any sense. Even minimal spending would secure league status and move the club into top 8-10, enable a cup run, etc but he actively works to fuck things up. I genuinely believe he enjoys rubbing the fans up the wrong way. This. He fucking hates us and has done since Keegan left. Everything he's done since makes perfect sense when you realise it's pure hatred that drives every decision to do with this football club.

Depressing watching the way Wolves have been building something since we were in the Championship with them. Whilst Ashley wanted to just build enough to get promoted then scale it all back and gamble on staying up with nothing. Makes it worse since I know a few Wolves fans. To think that he could say "keep that 12 million for Murphy, I'd rather buy someone else with it" is fucking ridiculous.

Well yeah it's pretty much a given that Ashley doesn't want to sell really. But why would someone be gullible enough to try to buy the club off him after seeing whats gone on with previous attempts? Especially when you don't even have funds in place. And then why write a letter thanking Mike for positive discussions? What positive discussions? They haven't even agreed on a price ffs That's why I think it's a possibility that he could be in on it all.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kenyon and Ashley are mates tbh. Think it's a more realistic prospect than this farce actually being a serious attempt to sell/buy a football club.

Same here. You'd discuss general wage demands/agents fees at a very early stage, before deciding whether to go ahead and bid for a player. We've been targeting him for over a month now supposedly, and have only just realised he wants a wage. They actually think we're stupid. Clearly the Chronicle's writers are stupid, as they don't call out such obvious bullshit. It's laughable really.
