Not at all. He's rather lazy defensively. I don't think that's true. There are plenty of players who are equally adept going forward as they are dropping back. Vidal, Marchisio, De Rossi (more of a deep-lying playmaker these days), Schweinsteiger, Toure, Boateng etc. It's valuable to have one player who can adequately perform the role of two.

If Cabaye goes, and I hope he doesn't, the best bet, imo, would be to play Anita as a deep-lying playmaker, a role he's best suited for, with Sissoko as one of two box-to-box central midfielders protecting him (we'd need to get another). Maybe Fer could be that player.
