Outrageous comment. Actually, you're right. The biggest role is to be a mediator between players and manager to iron out any issues and raise concerns. He's probably decent at that considering he licks every manager and coaches arse.
-
The whole "captain material" is fucking bollocks anyway. In football, the captains biggest influence on the game is to decide which way the team will shoot first.
-
He's not as good as he was and he's picking up injures that are probably only going to become worse. Now was the time to let go and replace tbh. I've backed him up on here because he is still the best centre half on our books (I've never seen Mbemba play) but now was the perfect time to have a fresh start. As predictable as ever though because the board will now think we're covered in that area when it's clear to the rest of the footballing world that we're woefully short.

Anyone still following Hernandoshideaway? Just won @ 5/4. Recouped my losses on the two previous defeats when finishing second to two decent types. The horse definitely has more races in the locker so I'll continue to follow this season.

I've just watched last night's episode. I love the program because it's like going back in time about 4/5 year ago when I'd bet every last penny in the hope that a big win was around the corner. I'm very much a small-medium gambler nowadays but it was interesting to watch others who have the same mindset as me. Specifically Steve Palmer from the RP who was on last week. He said something along the lines of "I wouldn't know what to do without a bet. What do people, who don't bet, do for entertainment?"

Pretty much how I feel now. Can't see ownership changing anytime soon and by the time he does leave, I think the damage will have been done. Ultimately, as a fan base, we'll have allowed him to destroy us.

It should be considering how many people are going to 'support' the team.

Christ if they're feeling effects from a Thursday Europa match on Saturday this early in the season, they might as well relegate themselves now. Surely they are most likely to be tired on the first game of the season? Most likely to be match fit.

Southampton have to be the best bet of the opening weekend at 17/10. I also reckon Southampton to win both halves at 7/1 is huge. Best thing about supporting us is the ease in which we can make decent money betting.

Based on absolutely nothing, I reckon Mcclaren has been told to get his wages off the books before he can sign a centre half.
-
He's fucking lush. Think a trip to Nice is on the cards this coming season.
-
Agreed. Wouldn't happen but I would start Dummett over Colo. Dummett is Mr. Fundamentals. Colo makes Dummett look like John Terry.
-
Add into the equation that Taylor is very rarely available and you can see why he had to play the majority of last season. I think if Mbemba signs (and is half decent considering none of us have seen much of him), and Dummett isn't at left back, we'll not see much of Colo starting. No doubt he still retains talent though, and may flourish once again alongside a more commanding, younger centre half. I imagine it's been very difficult to play alongside a non-footballer in his twilight years.
-
In an ideal world he wouldn't be in the team, as his best years are long gone, but with our current plethora of centre halfs, there's no argument to be had - he has to be in the team. This will hopefully change when we sign Mbemba and whoever else.

It's because Coloccini can actually do one job pretty well. I'm of the opinion you need at least one cb who is an out and out stopper and one who can read the game and cut out the stuff that gets past the stopper. Of course you'd like two cb's who have all these attributes, but as we don't have them, I rate Williamson as a s**** stopper and Colo as a decent reader of the game. So I could see Colo working ok with a John Terry type for example, but I couldn't see Williamson working with anyone at this level. Explanations aside, it's a fairly normal opinion given that Colo is infinitely better than Williamson. I find it quite easy to despise Williamson. Colo on the other hand has been an excellent servant over the years and naturally his game has dropped off as he has aged.

Cherno Samba was a hero on Champ Man. Loved the game around that era - FM just isn't the same.

I need to know who to put on 'ignore'.

I missed it, did it win? Its still running Missed the start, was off the bridle for the majority of the race, then finished like a train to somehow get 4th. Desperately needs further than a mile.
