I'm not one of the ones saying he's beyond criticism and he has been shite for a few months now but that's just not true.

I'd be surprised if we go for the likes of Coutinho, I'm sure we'll be steadily increasing the amount we're paying people but someone like Coutinho I'm imagining will be on mental wages and goes against what Howe has said a few times.

"no more goals" ? -
Shocked to see Burnley still in the bottom three after they sold us a donkey and bought the finest striker the league has ever seen in January.

Would have loved that to have been given but would be harsh as fuck like. Salah gets that all day though.

Dying to see that VAR frame again and which body parts they did the lines from

If he played like he has in some of his best games every week he'd be in line for a Ballon d'Or. He's not above criticism at all but the way some of our fans go on about him is mental, they deserve a team of Jack Colbacks.

I'll probably explain this badly but I do think that 'sportswashing' gets thrown about a bit lazily at times as a bit of an easy criticism without much thought behind it. Sportswashing obviously exists, and no doubt Saudi in part at least have purchased Newcastle as a way of raising their profile, perhaps with Newcastle being a very public face of their investment strategy with diversification, further investment into sport etc. But I don't buy that they've bought us and are potentially going to be spending billions just to have Gary the roofer from Benwell defend them on twitter under some BBC news articles, it just doesn't really make much sense and becomes a very easy to stick to beat us as fans with, which is where I've got a problem with it.
