That's not an unattractive prospect. Big teams, competitive, decent grounds, travel's not bad.

Jack Colback (now playing for Anstey Nomads)
Tiotes Witch Doctor replied to Disco's topic in Football
Loads saying he was excellent today, that was probably his best performance of the season overall and he still basically did nothing, maybe done things that any CM should be doing at bog standard level on a regular basis. -
Thought some of the passing moves we put together in the second half were the best I've seen in a long time from us, regardless of the fact we're still in the bottom 3 I think since Palace we've turned the corner a bit. If we address the central midfield issue in January I think we'll stay up comfortably, if we don't it might be a bit squeaky bum but still think we'll get enough to survive. Not that its some big achievement or anything as we should be far higher even with the squad we have IMO, but the situation we are in means survival is the no1 target. Just another great season supporting NUFC.

If Mcclaren absolutely insists on playing them both Anita should be more advanced than Colback, he has the pace to run into space and his passing is far superior, he seems to link up really well with Sissoko going forward, something I've noticed in the last few games.

Bit late like, since its boxing day now but hope everyone had a smashing christmas!

Hes playing better than Krul has for a long, long time and should he keep his current level of form Krul should be our no2. It's only fair.

Anita has been head and shoulders above Colback this season, its not even close.

http://www.themag.co.uk/2015/12/is-this-steve-mcclarens-key-player-at-newcastle/ Someone please log on and slate this guy, I would do it myself but I doubt it would come across in a respectable and elegant manner. What the actual fuck is wrong with our fanbase man? -

While I agree an an ideal world Anita doesn't offer quite enough to be a starter he has been man of the match contender on at least 3 or 4 seperate occasions this season and has put Colback to shame in almost all of them, hes been far improved this season while still not being quite good enough. Nowhere near as bad as Colback. -
The fuck is going on man, every week I expect them to start slipping but they dont Leicester City in the champions league?

I'd still rather have Krul in goal. He commands the area more. Elliott has done alright as a back up, but he doesn't really do anything that well. Not fast off his line, doesn't come for the high balls with confidence and won't stop a half decent strike unless it's right at him. He saves the ones that most keepers would save though. I've seen none of that to be honest, Blob is always having a go at the back line, and I've seen him save various shots that were'n right at him including 2-3 yesterday. He's a good goalkeeper but people don't like him because of something he may or may not have said to a fan about our expectations, if Krul had performed like that yesterday there would be no end of praise. I can't even remember what he said. What I can remember is that he didn't actually jump for the ball yesterday on the goal he conceded. He shoved his arm out and then dropped to the ground. His reactions are poor. Ridiculously harsh that like. It's more undeniable fact like m8. I'm absolutely fine with him as a backup keeper. He's been playing well. Made some decent saves one would hope for from a backup PL keeper. Still isn't actually very talented, and his reactions are still poor. His slowness is probably why he looked so hollywood on some of the regulation saves yesterday. Aye can't wait for Krul to come back and gift opposition chances with poor kicking and flap at every cross, love it when hes always beaten at his near post too.
-
Haven't seen him get close enough to a man to determine whether or not this is true, he could be Brock Lesnar in there but it means fuck all if he can't get anywhere near to closing someone down. Hes slow as fuck, he cant pass for shit and cant tackle for shit, he offers no more than Gouffran in there in reality.

 Not enough love for this

Comes on and gets a goal and assist and people are complaining about his celebration being too rowdy Heard it all.

If Krul had pulled off those saves yesterday he would be getting any amounts of praise, it wasn't just yesterday hes pulled off some very fine saves since hes came in to the side and his distribution is eerily accurate too. The goals we've conceded have been more down to our comedy of a defence than him.

Anita outshone him once again yesterday. The bloke is absolute pony. -
Krul has been dogshit for ages and wouldn't get back in ahead of Elliot if he was fit right now for me like, his distribution alone makes him a distinct liability. Not saying Elliot is world class but the bloke clearly has talent.

He's looking like a very good keeper, a lot of humble pie needs to be devoured in this thread.

Ayozé Pérez (now playing for Villarreal)
Tiotes Witch Doctor replied to ponsaelius's topic in Football
Not really sure what the outrage is about with him not playing to be honest? He literally looked like he couldn't be arsed against Palace and was hooked at half time and rightly so, it got to the point where he wasn't even trying (made no difference but still) Not to mention hes looked off the pace for a while now and De Jong plays in a similar role albeit a different style of player. De Jong came in and it worked and he looked good, no need to rush Ayoze back into the team IMO. Hes obviously going to be a very good player but think his qualities are slightly over hyped by our fan base. -
You literally just never know with us, could be a 6-0 loss and it would be completely expected, but could get a sneaky win and that would also be kind of expected for the shop window cunts in our team. Really hope De Jong is fit enough to retain his place, thought I saw a bit of leadership in the middle for once and he was the focal point of some nice pass and move plays up towards Cisse. Would love to think Liverpool was a corner turning game, but I can just see it being another false dawn.
