Yet the public narrative is that we are a selling club and Pardew kept getting his best players sold so he got bad results. Just about everyone is a selling club and every manager has to deal with losing his best players. It's really annoying when I see this argument. (Whether or not we replace our players is a completely different matter)

Was thinking the exact same thing. Nobody has even bumped the "realistic transfer targets" thread because we know there won't be any. (Though I suppose drooling over managers we aren't going to get is kinda the same thing)

The league is doing better signing young players now. if you look at the list of designated players it isn't filled completely with old names and quite a few of the recent ones have been young player with potential. It's still over shadowed by every Gerrard, Lampard or Kaka signing though because those are what make the headlines.

Reminds me of when Demba Ba sat on Chelsea's bench for a season and a half. Swansea are actually getting money though I suppose
