Playing devils advocate here, but are Carver and co not also part of the problem? I wonder how much the coaching staff agree with Pardews ideas.
-
If we sack Pardew tomorrow, who can we bring in for the last 3 games who will make a difference? Will things be that much different if we just plod forward with Carver as caretaker? Makes all the sense to wait until the end of the season. My god what a shit situation.

Could we potentially have a situation on our hands whereby both Villa and Wigan need a point to stay up on the last day?
-
The game in hand for them is dangerous, coupled with the thought of them being capable of unlikely results and being able to play a decent brand of football on their day worries me.
-
If it doesn't happen tomorrow it'll be end of the season. Unless we win our next 2, in which case I think he'll get the summer and the first half of next season.

Carroll, Nolan and Allardyce all ready to come back and bite us on the arse. Not in the least bit confident for this. Add into the mix the fact we've won one away game all season and I think we'll all be watching other results with far too much interest.
-
Pass and move, offer an option to the man on the ball and be confident enough to control the ball and drive it forward. All so simple, implemented really well yesterday. Didn't hurt them much that we were more than willing to allow them ample time to do what they wanted, either.

I wonder if Cabaye is still suffering from depression, as he appears to have lost all fight and desire. It isn't something you just shake off in a few months. He's a quality player, he really is, it's frustrating to see him put in half arsed shows. With the captains armband on his person as well.

Benetiz is the obvious choice for me, but think Di Matteo will be in the frame.

When basic passing is amiss, as professional footballers, can you really place the blame solely on the managers shoulders? The line up was disappointing, and I bet a few of the players didn't agree with it, but you still have to apply yourself and try to make the most of it. I think there is a clear lack of respect towards Pardew from a number of players, some of it deserved but you still have to be professionals. If I had a disagreement with my manager, I couldn't act like them and perform poorly, and a lot of the players on our books earn far more in a week than I do in a year. Disappointing to see.

You'd look for a bit more professionalism from a 27 year old. He's been fine since we signed him, one red card doesn't make him a shit player, as much as anyone can be mad at him for it.

The women walking into the Victoria Whitley Bay shouting that they were the "fat slags" and making everyone aware that they had a plateful of the half time sausages made me feel as though we had conceded a third goal. Fuck this.
-
Main aim for them now is to get Tiote sent off and really slaughter us.
-
The Europa League game we had well over a week ago is clearly taking its toll. Damn that competition. Damn it to hell.
-
Will be very disappointed and surprised if he is manager much longer than the last game of the season, whether we stay up or not. No shape, no clue, completely outclassed by Liverpool and they aren't the first team to do it to us. They aren't playing particularly well, we are just struggling with the simplest of things right now.

A top ten finish next season would be progress, but then you have to look at finishing near the relegation places the season after finishing 5th as major regression. If Pardew is to stay, there has to be a serious uptrend from now, and it there has to be some early signs that he is learning and changing his own approach. And that is a very big ask. Not impossible, but not likely, I don't think he'll change his philosophy or suddenly become tactically astute.

This season has been such a huge disappointment, I think most were optimistic heading into it after qualifying for Europe the year before. The extra games are such a ready-made excuse for managers and players, but you have your squad and you work with it, that's the managers job. When you rely on one or two to change a game and they play every game they're available for, of course they'll get tired and results will drop. This is why you instil a philosophy you want each player to follow, at all levels of the club, so when they do come into the side they know exactly what's expected of them. Training time for each individual game has been less, but you must manage within this and Pardew has failed in this regard. With two games in a week, I refuse to believe it's impossible to work on key points for both of them and devise game plans. Pardew acted as though only the upcoming game was worked on, and then after that, the game on the Sunday. It's just not an effective use of time spent with the players. Now we have one game a week, the pitch is blamed, the injuries excuse comes out. Injuries have been bad this year, but in a lot of our games you could look at our line-up and think we have enough there to win or do better than we have done. Get the fucking ball on the ground and work on passing and moving. We have the players capable of implementing that style. To be honest, it's embarrassing for all involved just how boring and one dimensional we are.

Ashley will have covered his back on a deal that long, I'd imagine Pardew would get a season or two's worth of wages if he is sacked. Or they have an agreed amount depending on how many seasons are left of his deal.
-
He'd be an expensive plan B if his wages demands are high and Liverpool aren't willing to drop their pricetag on him.
-
Will be incredibly disappointed when he does eventually sign a new contract.
-
Steve Wraith has a fake text from Andy Carroll on his mobile. He must be respected.
-
Can see the idea behind the tattoo, it just isn't a very good one.

Very early to call Di Canio competent. Let's see where they are at the end of next season.

With the situation we're in now, it'll be difficult to change the style of player at this stage. We definitely have enough attacking quality to make teams worry about us though, rather than being overly worried about how they'll attack us. Pardew has to change his thinking in this regard. I think we'll stay up and he'll be here next season.
