Difficult to make an impact when they're generally being thrown on as a reactive sub, when we're chasing the game (or its gone already), and being expected to make an impact with around 15mins left... or seconds, in Wissa's case.

Which, and I'm not saying its right, is probably a result of how was used on his return from Injury, and not getting a proper run in the side. He probably thought as soon as he was available, he'd get meaningful minutes, but after he was basically rotated with Woltemade from the off. Its no excuse for a shit attitude (if that is the case) and being disinterested, but he's never been given the chance to get properly up to speed in the team.

Yeah, Wissa was overspend as we'd been after him most of the summer (many saw him as the Wilson replacement), but we should have walked away long before it got anywhere near £55m! Even the late pursuit of Strand-Larsson, I think was more an attempt to force Brentford's hand. Would have been interesting if we'd followed through on JSL if Wolves had accepted any of our offers. Woltemade though, yeah, screamed of 'panic' buy so late in the window, and we hadn't even been linked with him (I don't think) until it broke.

I honestly don't think anything is decided, and we don't know, EH might not have the appetite for it, even if the club want to keep him on. They (GJ's) were correct in that the end of season 'review' was always planned, with EH to be there, so nothing sinister in that. Doubt the club were ever going to say anything officially about his position before then anyway. But also saw something suggested on Twitter yesterday that sacking/paying off EH and his backroom staff now, would be a major hit to this years PSR figures, to be submitted by end of June. Apparently under SCR, it would only be the head coach's sacking/pay-off that would impact the numbers, not the rest of the backroom staff, so maybe that is a consideration in the thinking going forward? Either way, whether that's true or not, I think if/when it happens, it will be described as 'mutual'.
