I suppose if he did move here, he gets to stay in the PL for another season (assuming we go up), and gets to stay in the North East, and be close to his 'best friend'.
-
No problem with the feint/stutter, it's just like giving the keeper the eyes, body shape etc to sell him. Beardsley has practically an entire YouTube showreel of feinting keepers and making them look like idiots. I seem to remember John Aldridge being one of the first to do the deliberate 'stop' in his run up, just before he took the kick. Not sure if he started doing that after that miss/save in the cup final.

Haha... these 2 will be getting a slap off Moysey!!
-
Or does he? Short has been criticised for changing managers too often, and many were/are saying Moyes deserves time even if they do go down ("not all his fault"... "didn't have full summer with squad".... "bad luck with injuries"... Yada yada). They are going down with very little fight, and this little video clip (leaked a fortnight after it happened) may give him the ammo to fire him for non-football related issues.

Wonder if it will be discussed on Total Sport tonight, her being a BBC Radio Newcastle reporter, and all? (or she used to be) #Magedia

I can't recall us doing that?! Just googled it, and here's the Chronic announcement on it... http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/united-plan-a-60000-ground-1490092 Announced by Freddie Shepherd, who of course was ousted just a few month later.

wasnt Marco hinting last night,( not sure only heard it in background) that they could go into administration, and fall further down the leagues? I didn't hear that one, but did hear him earlier this week when the question was raised 'where did callers/supporters see each team in 12 months time'. Most of their fans were saying they'd be in the Championship, and some saying possibly heading towards league 1. He was quite bullish and insistent that Sunderland actually had a good squad/team at the moment with everyone fit. Also, saying that when they'd gone down to that level in the past they've generally done well, so he saw no reason to think the current squad with everyone fit wouldn't come straight back up, or at least make the play-offs. I did hear him arguing last night with a supporter who claimed they were £170m in debt, and his (MG) response was that it was fine as most of it was just to the owner.

Haha, Southgate wont say that Defoe is back in longterm / for next summer.... i.e. only in this squad due to injuries.
-
Part of me thinks he's only been selected because that poor wee fellow is there. Sad I know. Lad at work said same last week.
-
My bets never come in, so I might just lump a tenner on. If they do manage stay up, I've won £90... if they go down, that tenner will have been worth it! Hehe
-
Seriously?? The bloke is 34, and only back in the squad because of injuries.
-
He'd already appealed the conviction itself and lost, This appeal was about the length of the sentence. Guess he was claiming it was unfairly lengthy, and only because of who he is. Glad he's lost it. Hopefully he's enjoying his time inside, and made lots of new 'friends'.

Seems like drawing at Reading has caused a few to have mini-meltdown, listening to Total Sport on the way home. Couple of texters 'Andy' and 'Big Kev Nixon' both wetting the bed about our form, and 'Big Kev' having a rant about how boring we are, and offering to meet Ando at the match to discuss Ando's commentaries. Guessing the real reason 'Andy' and 'Big Kev' texted in, was that if they'd phoned in, their funny accents would have given the game away. Though maybe... one of them is really Crumpy??!!
-
Before these matches, the Reading game seemed like the most likely win of the 3, so a draw feels a bit of a disappointment. However, you cant take away the effort and results in the previous 2 matches which were brilliant, and as someone else said if you'd offered 7 pts out of the 9 beforehand, not many wouldn't have took it! Onwards and upwards... lets hope we can keep the unbeaten run going this weekend, and hopefully take the 3 points off Fulham.

Hopefully we'll be wearing the 'Boca' strip again tonight. Its been quite good/lucky for us on the road this season. Can we not start wearing it at home, too?? Hehe

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

Be interesting to see if this is the start of the Brighton wobble. Same thing happened last season after storming it early on... started losing key players, and they ended up in the play-offs, and the rest is history. -
Love that goal from Gayle... seen loads like that over the years, and the scorer always seems to let it get to the line and then blast it into the net. The way he nods it so he has the last touch and then just lets it roll in of its own steam is just so much better.... then that celebration... if he wasn't our player, that would really annoy... but he is, and its great!! Hehe

For all the alleged luck and fortune in our last 2 wins and the goals in those game, its very telling that the two closest teams to us could only score a dubious penalty each, at their own grounds.
-
Well, just like Tuesday, another massive win, that I probably would have been happy with a draw from. Brighton losing was a big bonus today too, and gives us that bit of a cushion. Hopefully we can finish this trio of matches without losing, and maybe with a third win. Interesting comment from Kennys daughter on Sky after the game, saying people thought these matches may proves too much for us... 'hoped' more like... guess Sky were hoping we'd slip up and be almost out of the top 2 by now, or certainly after this coming Tuesday. Cant praise the team enough. The pressure has been on, and so far, they've delivered. Amazing that this promotion campaign could be built more on our away form/results than at Home. Anyway, Roll on Tuesday, and bring on Reading!

Voted for the holy trinity.... Mackems, Palace (Sam) and Boro.

Hope your gaffer's sympathetic Have a good day mate! I hope my gaffers symathetic... I just stuck this on his laptop screen He a seagull ? Oh yes.... whilst claiming he'd take a draw yesterday (trying to be magnanimous), you could tell he was also very confident of them winning easily. He's gonna get so much stick today, from us in here and various clients/contacts.

Agree about the penalty thing - if anything, its 6 of 1, half a dozen the other... both were holding. But the commentators were saying Clark never watched the ball, hence his intent to foul Murray... but when you watch it, whilst having and arm around Murray, he is looking in the direction of the ball at all times. Feared the worst when they got that penalty, but all credit to us for fighting back, and turning the result around. Said it last night... just a massive result in the promotion (and maybe title) race, and hopefully gives us confidence and momentum for Saturday.
