From the 'Remember When' nostalgia bit of todays Chronicle... http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/lifestyle/remember-when-sunderland-face-vasas-6132204

Did Ball win any matches last time he was caretaker? I know he was in charge when we beat them 4-1 (even luque scored) down there. Cannot remember how many games he's been caretaker now, in total.
-
People thought the same last season, when a 0-6 home defeat followed the 0-3 derby home defeat.
-
I find it hard to believe PDC had no involvement in the mass recruitment when that is exactly what happened at the only other club he has managed as well. According to their pundit/commentator (Nick Barnes) on Total Sport earlier this week, apparently Di Canio told Di Fanti the type of players he wanted, and how he wanted the team to set-up and play, and then Di Fanti went out and found (presumably suitable) players, but Di Canio still had the final say whether said players were to be signed or not. So, I'd guess Di Canio must have asked for (at least) 14 players, but Di Fanti and the italian scout went out and found the players to fit the request(s)?
-
At the end of the day, he (if it is Poyet) is still an untried manager at this level, so hopefully he may struggle with the step up in level. And as stated above, he still only got the same 'Frankenstein Squad' that Di Canio and/or Di Fanti assembled.
-
Well, these things are there to be broken at some point, so if it is Poyet, then hopefully his jinx over us will be broken in a few weeks time.
-
I know people have varying opinions on him, but for those interested, there's a documentary on ITV at 9pm tonight... 'Being Paul Gascoigne', about his continued battle with alcoholism.
-
Total Sport should be a canny listen on the drive home this evening.

Haha... be even funnier if it turns out that it was 'Catts' that he chinned. )

Well on SSN, SunderLOL are saying there is no shortlist yet for the next poor b*****d, so maybe something like that has happened if he's been sacked last night, without a replacement lined-up... especially when one of yesterdays papers claimed he had two league games to try turn it around, or at least stop the rot.
-
Slightly mixed feelings about this. Whilst its great to see the unwashed surpassing us in the 'laughing stock' stakes again, I just hope they don't make the right appointment next time, and/or get that new manager lift again, before the derby match. Crazy how it went so pear-shaped, so quickly. SunderLOL indeedy.

Talksport were baiting him to go on just after the Window closed, to explain himself, but I guess it never happened. Maybe Ashley has him bound and gagged somewhere.... or hopefully doped up to the eyeballs in an old people home as far away from here as possible.

Testimonial replica strips available here... http://sh-testimonial.sondicoprofessional.com/buy-here-9 Hopefully the some, if not all proceeds from sales will go to the charities too.

Momo Sissoko in talks with Reading, and Carlton Cole might be rejoining West Ham.... according to TS.

For deadline day lunacy, nothing will top the Bryan Ruiz 'hijack attempt'.... especially with the added drama of the helicopter being needing to be moved, mid (alleged) negotiation.

Hehe... Lineker talking about palace signing a player called 'Jack Hunt'.... "i needed to be careful with that one" )

Ji hauled off... Norman Stanley on for 2nd half.

s*** ref, it's should have been red/ Aye - funny that Sky aren't showing it any attention whatsoever mind. Straight red. 100% Sky are itching for an upset, like.

Bardsley has been suspended by SAFC while they investigate that comment.
-
Good site. Yeah, from memory they don't normally put the general gossip/rumours on there - hopefully there is something definite in this.

0/10 WNB Why is "Bazza" so f***ing happy though? At a guess, I assume 'it' was the first to get the new home shirt. Like when 'Lou and Andy' camped out a few years back.

Maybe he just didn't want to go to Portugal?
