Some brilliant comments on the TotalSport FB page today.... https://www.facebook.com/bbcnewcastletotalsport?fref=ts "It was the Roman salute NOT the nazi salute." "Haave you heard those words from his lips Ian or is it just what you have read in the media and from mischief makers who will print anything?... ...Well I will go with the words he said in his interview rather than made up ones by the Press or ghost writers in a biography." "This is a football & sports show not bloody politics...I don't give two hoots that he's accused of being a fascist" "Comment on your own thug of a manager." Love the fact they still get a random Pardew dig in there, too.
-
Di Canio: "For sure the fans should know they have a manager who will work 26 hours per day, not 24, because this is my mission." Mackematics has kicked in already.
-
Mackems liking the statement... http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=770856 No, really - they seem to think its great and the right thing to have been done.
-
So, In all of that, he doesn't actually deny saying 'I am a fascist' - just claims that quote has been taken and used negatively? Wonder why? I also noticed the 'I'm not racist... two of my best friends are black' argument, too.
-
Looking forward to Total Sport this evening.... Gabbiadini made enough excuses for O'Neill in the last few months, be interesting to hear his take on DiCanio. Or maybe they'll get Gawy Bennett in for this one??
-
You started it ! (Now where have I heard that before ?) Of course - it's what Ive been saying for past 20 pages ! Just been in shower and decided one last look in to deal with another shower....(sorry, couldn't resist) In fact lets get off the subject and actually talk about what it will be like when DiCanio arrives at SJP. Going by these pages, ranting amongst ourselves (Why FFS ?) God knows what will happen when the subject of the ranting is there in person. The feller is getting built up by the very people screaming to do him down ! Was thinking about that myself when watching some clips on the news about him earlier. Showed him arms aloft with a scarf in the centre of the pitch at Swindon's ground. It wouldn't surprise me to see him pull some kind of stunt like that at St James' on derby day to get their fans onside, moreso if they lose/get humped at Chelsea.

"He's got Passion" Just on SSN... that seems to be all anyone can say about him... be it Swindon fans, and Mackems alike. No mention of Experience, tactical knowledge, or owt... just 'Passion'. If 'boyhood Sunderland fan' Martin O'Neill didn't have the passion required to inspire the players, then what makes them think DiCanio will?
-
Aye, there are loads of ex-mackem players crawling out of the woodwork for 5 more minutes of fame. Gordon Armstrong was on SSN this morning??!!
-
Just back in after a day out and turned SSN on.... Dear me... Paulo DiCanio??? This will go well, then.
-
If it is McClaren, I wonder if he'll put a Mackem Accent on, for his first Press Conference??!!
-
'Bally to take them down again..... hopefully.
-
Hehe... just seen this on SSN. 'Partin with Martin', indeedy.
-
Meh, its fine. We've learned how to win from behind, now man!

2014/15 NUFC Kits - New third kit revealed on page 143

Here is the proper shirt... Looks like the yellow was in the adidas sleeve stripes (very fineline), along with their name. -

Tbf we would still have the same white border even if we had sticked with Adidas. Why? Sunderland have theirs with a white border too. Not sure about the away shirt, but I'm sure I saw pics of the home shirt when it was launched, and the badge was clearly embroidered into the shirt, as ours with Adidas used to be. -

Hehe, just seen someone share these images from a Facebook page, claiming these are apparently the new 2nd and 3rd kits. https://www.facebook.com/NUSWW?ref=stream -
Aye, Dekka wrote in to 'DIY SOS'.

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/newcastle-united-unveil-300000-development-1982181 Chronicle article about the new bar at St James' park, but scroll down to the gallery, and there are some excellent pics of the ground changing over the years.

Aye, not as bad on the umbro/asics replicas, but its a shame the 3 stripes are missing from the sleeves of the adidas replicas, though that is their trademark, i suppose. -

Another Retro replica at the club shop.... -

Slightly off-topic, but the club shop is now doing retro replicas of the 'Barcode' shirt.... -
That would be a silver lining to all this - however, just because the injury (hopefully) might not be as bad as feared, it shouldn't detract from the fact that it was still a wildly reckless challenge that McManaman should have faced action over.
-
Aye, its mentioned on that 'Two Tribes' thing.... Loads of them resentful about the whole 'Tyne & Wear' thing, where they say Newcastle got all the money spent on it, and Sunderland got nowt.

3 match ban for handling outside the box? thought it was one match for a straight red unless violent conduct, then three' ridiculous Its only a 1 match ban for Bunn... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11709/8577941/Premier-League-Norwich-fail-with-appeal-over-goalkeeper-Mark-Bunn-s-red-card
