  2. I don't even think defence is our issue any more. It's the 3 attacking midfielders and striker losing ball so much and creating fuck all meaning ball comes straight back and we are under pressure time and time again. Every time the back 4 or deep midfielder has ball there is no one trying to slot into space or taking their marker for a run to open up space. It's pedestrian i think this is right, little vurn is doing what's asked of him but he can't make the more attack-minded (!) players move into space like he does looking for passes it's alright saying he should pass forwards but unless he's under instructions to go long or direct then he's not going to do it, and rightly so when he hasn't got the ball is a different matter though obvs Pass and Move though. He passes and stays where he is. Are you for real? He literally has more off the ball movement than 90% of the rest of the team Aye but not in positive areas

    Florian Thauvin

He wasn't exactly great in France either by all accounts
  4. There's no such thing as a poor man's Sissoko, he fulfils that role himself. He has a foot like a croquet mallet and a head to match How come he is one of only two players that ever create anything for us then? love how when anyone says something bad about Sissoko, Triggs is instantly there to defend him. Popping up all over the place to the rescue. Number one fan and defender. Probably 90 per cent of my posts in the last two weeks are defending Sissoko
  5. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Obertan started here. He was our most dangerous player last night according to those at the game and both Thauvin and Perez are playing poorly at the moment

there's such a thing as the greater good, because he sporadically creates the odd chance in a sea of shit it doesn't mean he's the best thing for the team overall tbh against chelsea and citeh i'd probably not drop him on reflection but they have to be his last chances to put in a game influencing performance imo, if he can't do it then he should get to fuck back 5 thauvin sissoko wijnaldum aarons perez mitrovic we've got to change something man, he's been playing the same players and formation for months and funnily enough changing neither is not working What is the greater good? Leaving everything up to Janmaat to create? Wijnaldum, Colback, Thauvin should all be dropped before Sissoko based on performances The greater good is playing a player might integrate better with the team. At the risk of sounding all TCD Sissoko is little more than an athlete who can transition play quickly, but he doesn't do it consistently enough to warrant his place in the team without the fear of being dropped imo. 3 years he's been right? More or less come January. He's no better than the day we signed him, worse in fact. I'd be interested to know your grand solution because for me picking the same players who do the same shit week in week out in a poor formation that complements nobody is just madness. He's got to send a message at some point or they'll just keep coasting and picking up wages. Why wouldn't they? Honestly what I think we should do is focus all our attacks down the right flank with Sissoko and Janmaat and then let the rest of our attacking players get into the box or just on the edge of the area for a cross/cut back. Once we started doing this against Watford we started actually looking like we might score

  8. He's right like. Playing like we have been this season, plenty of possession miles away from the final third is both shit and pointless Not completely pointless though. Last year we were hoofing the ball to our forwards (who don't challenge for long balls, and couldn't win them anyway) and giving possession straight back to the other team. The sooner you turnover the ball, and the longer the ball is in the possession of the opponent, the more they attack and are likely to score a goal. So I agree that we haven't been able to effectively use possession football to win games, but to say that the changes we've made are pointless is incorrect. Disagree. Now, we are giving the ball away less often but in far more dangerous areas when we do give it away hence we're getting absolutely fucked on the counter attack. It is better than hoofing it up to Perez in terms of aesthetics but it's about as effective
  9. No he didn't, he passed it sideways to Lascelles and Williamson and back again all night. Possession for Possessions sake. Must say the split centre backs thing is potentially suitable when you have good distributors - like Colo and Mbemba are, to be fair to them - but it's absolutely useless when the 3 taking part are Williamson, Lascelles and Anita. Only one of them can pass and he very rarely shows any range at all. For that to work, Anita would have to be a very good long passer and he isn't, well he might be but he doesn't take any risks

Dropping Sissoko wouldn't be bold, it would be idiotic. Even if you think he doesn't care, he still does more than the rest of our players bar Janmaat in an attacking sense

Might have something to do with the massive player turnover they had over the summer as well. All those new faces will take some time to gel. We can only hope that Cathro had a big hand to play in the great organisation and discipline they had last year - a sort of poor man's Atlético. It's a bit interesting than many of Valencia's fans aren't 100% sold on Nuno Espírito Santo, despite the success they've had with him. They also weren't sold on Unai Emery who always got them into the top four while having no money and selling all their best players

    Why Mitrovic and De Jong?
  14. Because "his role" is a fucking retarded tactic
  15. It was a clear pisstake post like Never know on here anymore. Inspired by this
  16. I'm gonna copy Nev from now on. Your standards are dropping
  17. Must have imagined him putting an easy chance on a plate for Cisse in the first half

Think it's more to do with the players not being that good rather than then not giving a shit tbh
  19. Surprised he picks an actual keeper

Erik Lamela is the absolute pinnacle of this
  21. Hope he's been playing well, because really hope you're not saying that based on that goal Not watching the game, just going by him scoring two goals
  22. He looked absolutely shit any time they played anyone even slightly less shit in Europe
