Sort of amazing really that one of the 'advantages' I often read about appointing McClaren (not on here mind, from neutrals and media) was that he was a safe, reliable bet to get us midtable. And conversely that guys like Remi Garde were unproven and a risk

What on Earth has gone wrong? I was never behind the McClaren appointment but with the new coaching staff, the likes of Cathro seemingly really fresh and positive, as well as the new signings - actually spending some money - I was somewhat optimistic. Not of achieving anything great this season but at least in terms of seeing improvement and new ideas. But as mentioned, it's like we've gone back to Carver's reign of terror.

Hard to disagree with any of that. Defensively we look so vulnerable, midfield is a complete joke and we don't seem to have any kind of plan or cohesion in our attacks. Terrible stuff

Calling it a 'barren run' seems a bit odd when we've played the majority of 2 of the 3 games with ten men, thus consigning us to only really being able to defend for the most of the time.
