Maybe I'm going senile but I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Haidara given a few games on the left-wing position. I think it's pretty clear that the strongest part of his game is going forward, he's a natural left-footer and he surely couldn't offer any less than Gouffran. Plus he'll track back plenty to keep Pardew happy.

Cabella I'd agree with, not so sure about Riviere. I don't wanna be too critical of the guy already but I think he's shown a real lack of quality that would be evident in any team he played in.

Saying that Ashley is a bigger problem as a means to justify not sacking Pardew is nonsense. It's like having Ebola and AIDS at the same time. Ashley is AIDS, Pardew is Ebola. Just because you have AIDS doesn't mean you shouldn't try and get rid of the Ebola. Yes, in the long term AIDS will kill you and will always be there hovering over you in the background. Much like Ashley. But you can still live a relatively good life with AIDS, in the short-term. With Ebola, you can't. Every day is awful and your existence a misery. That's Pardew. Every day he is in charge it makes being a fan suck. Without Ebola (ie. a better manager), we could still enjoy matchdays, not wanting to see the team lose, we could still play a brand of football that isn't turgid and negative. I agree with a lot of that and also don't think the result today will affect Ashley's decision on Pardew on iota. I want pardew gone but I also want us to get 3 points quickly as like you say the gap to get out of this will grow over the next month if we don't and may make getting out of it even with a new bloke varnigh impossible.
