  1. Getting boring now... Just my opinion based on past experience.
  2. Think we are closed for business personally. With the exception of outgoing of course

Did that lad ever see sense?

Nice little tonic for those saying McClaren was worse than Pardew (at the time of his appointment). Did anyone on here say that? Cronky doesn't count. Not even brett.
  5. He offers the square root of f*** all going forward though. I don't think he was terrible yesterday by any means, he was just his usual bog standard 6/10 self. He does currently but wonder if it's a confidence thing. He's not shit on the ball, just not an exciting player pushing forward. He has goals in him which we have seen but never gets in those positions often enough He has 3-5 goals in him a season which is about par for the course for a box to box midfielder. I don't think it's a confidence thing either, he just isn't cut out to have a crisp expansive passing game. He doesn't excel in any area and offers a bit of graft and and some simple passes nothing more.

  7. That'd be ace to know if we were a running club and not a football club.
  8. This sounds good to me, as I've mentioned though we really could do with a proper holding player who can pass it a bit to pull this off in my opinion. I actually think we already have that player in Mehdi Abeid, who has the physicality to muscle people off the ball, has the pace to get across the pitch and cover, and has a decent pass on him and is fairly technical as well. Absolute shame if he's flogged, he's far quicker in the pass than Tiote has EVER been. Regarding Abeid I believe he was originally an attacking midfielder as well but as you said he has the physicality and athletic ability which we badly lack in central midfield. Can he trusted to sit and hold though? I have no doubts he'd be good plating out from the back.

  10. But this is the window I expected so far, a change in strategy to make people believe the club had changed course and was willing to challenge but words not backed by actions so far.
  11. It's good the only problem is his central midfield partner then goes and hides behind the closest opposition player he can.
  12. Too early to say he won't be that player himself, no? Yup but you can never have too many defensive leaders right?
  13. Would love to see this guy player deeper next to a proper anchor man.
  14. This lad has ability clear for all to see, think he will be class for us. He really could do with a leader like organiser next to him though
  15. Was impressed by both his intent and him looking to cut it back, it does appear we have some some work to get the best out of him over pre season.
  16. If not then any one with some kidnapping skills could pop down to the Britannia and bring Shaqiri up here. Ryder denied that one asap. He'd be one of our best players and we aren't interested
  17. If Liverpool want to be a force they need rid of him. Getting better players is more important IMO How much do you want them to throw at him?

Think they've got dummett ear marked for first choice left back. Would love us to sign another centre half and a proper holding player. A left back as well but just can't see it.
  19. They've copied our tactic of if you beg enough the player might come.
  20. Not really considering Obertan is a right winger. Round peg would have been Aarrons.

At least we gave it a pop too. Couldn't say that much last season. We did somewhat, thought we faded badly and Southampton were the better side after gini scored personally. We could really kick on this season if we were to invest properly and buy 3 or 4 more players to improve the first team too bad it won't happen.

We look competent which is a massive improvement on anything we've had in a long time.
