  1. Looks like Dwight Gayle leaving Palace to sign on loan somewhere. Norwich and Fulham mentioned
  2. From his appearance yesterday albeit brief I thought he looked sharp, it looked like his match fitness is getting there. It was a sublime little touch that set up Mitrovic for the chance that he should have scored from. Even though De Jong was in front of goal himself he had the awareness to set Mitrovic up. Strikes me as an intelligence player, I reckon he can provide those subtle touches in and around the penalty area and hopefully weigh in with goals. He looked a lot more comfortable in the 10 role that Gini did, Gini in turn was much better playing slightly deeper and arriving into the box. For me we have to get De Jong, Perez and Sissoko all on the pitch behind Mitrovic.
  3. Some very dodgy looking Twitter accounts claiming that we are the club in for Jean Paul Boetius, claiming the source to be 'Voetbal'
  4. We are undoubtedly stronger than we were 12 months ago and even Pardew managed to have us in a decent position pre Christmas. I just think the team that finished in the second half could be a very good one. Perez has had a full season under his belt and I think he will get better and better, I think Mitrovic is going to wreak havoc and De Jong will come good obviously depending on him staying fit.

    Steve McClaren

De Jong looked sharp when he came on and linked very well with Mitrovic for his chance that hit the post. Wijnaldum looked much better when he played deeper today
  6. Went to the game, a few thoughts. First half we started very slow and they passed the ball us around us for fun. Cisse looked very isolated ,Wijnaldum was in the number 10 role but seemed to struggle with it as he didn't get close enough to Cisse. However I thought the last 15-20 minutes of the half we were the better side, we pressed a lot higher and We argueably had the clearest opening. The one thing that was the most noticeable was we did not play a single long ball apart from Krul who picked out Sissoko a couple of times on half way. Second half was similar however Wijnaldum dropped deeper and was much better and seemed very comfortable. Sissoko should have scored with just the keeper to beat but hit the bar. Biggest concern was the manner of their goal which again was just really careless and sloppy defending. Thought Mbemba looked bright when he came on, even watching him briefly you can see he has class. Aarons was decent when he came on as was Mitrovic who I think will be a handful. He worked well and linked with De Jong when he came on. Overall not bad but clearly the same issues remain. Error prone at the back and the quality of crossing into the box was poor. At least another CB and a winger needed.

    Chancel Mbemba

Feels like we are doing one deal at a time. So once this gets sorted today they move onto the next one. Hopefully

    Chancel Mbemba

He's played in over 75% of DR Congos competitive games in the last 2 years, so aye he's guaranteed to get one. If DR Congo were in the FIFA top 50 he would already have signed as he would have qualified automatically. http://www.inbrief.co.uk/football-law/footballer-work-permits He meets the criteria of being an international player of the highest calibre. The rules that are there aren't to stop the likes of Mbemba playing in the UK
  9. Palace might have a good season. However as we all know and fans of West Ham, Charlton and Southampton know eventually things will go to rat s*** for him, if it's this season or next. Fraudsters gonna fraud
  10. This is it. Another CB in addition to Mbemba is a must. No reason to suggest he won't do well and seems to have all the attributes for the PL but he needs a solid partner
  11. So as it stands with 2 weeks to go we have Steven Tatlor just back from a ruptured Achilles and who will take a while to be up to speed, Colo with fitness issues and potentially on his way out, Lascelles who is unproven and Mike Williamson. No pressure on this 20/21 year old kid then. The sheer chronic lack of attention/investment given to our back four has been criminal
  12. Despite some of his performances last season you really can't use it as a barometer on the true value of him to us. Last season was an absolute s*** storm where we were an absolute shambles under Carver. He still scored important goals for us and I think he would be a huge asset next season

    Chancel Mbemba

Is he an out and out CB? Sky reporting that he's a full back. Anyway looks like he will add some much needed speed and strength to our defence
  14. Ricky Lambert looks likes he's off to West Brom Pulis
  15. Andy84

    Emmanuel Rivière

Obviously no-one is arsed about this bloke but already that's 2 first team squad players with proper injuries and it's still only July
  16. Sounds like a load of s*** and hopefully it is

    Sunderland

I'll stop laughing when he actually signs rather than his agent telling them "don't even think about it". @SkySportsNewsHQ 11m11 minutes ago BREAKING: Sunderland sign defender Younes Kaboul from Tottenham on four-year deal. #SSNHQ 4 year deal Will be utter baggage by year 3 That's being generous
  18. Hasn't the whole issue with Porto been suggested that they can't afford the fee
  19. If it's true about wanting the signings in prior to letting anyone go that would suggest one of Sissoko, Cisse perhaps tiote out? Think the likes of Abeid, Marv will be shifted, perhaps one or two more away on loan. Really hope they don't put a dampener on what may well be a decent window with an 11th hour sale of Sissoko for instance.
  20. This is the opposite tbf, they hired young, progressive managers. Leicester have hired a past it old man who has let the game pass him by. Aye fair enough about the age gap. What I meant was Southampton binned Adkins when he was doing okay to the outrage of the football world (well his fellow average English managers). They then obviously appointed the right man in Poch. My point is Leicester have tried to do similar in binning Perason and appointing probably a more 'glamorous' foreign coach
  21. Totally smacks of owners who have the best intentions for the club by trying to emulate the likes of Southampton but this will fail miserably.
  22. Jordy Clasie to Southampton
  23. Luckiest c*** in football. Still lives off that season we finished 5th, which was mainly all due to having 2 proper strikers in the form of their lives in 2 halfs of the season, not to mention Cabaye signing. When some intelligent management was required when things got tough he was exposed for the League 1 standard manager that he is.
