It's completely bizzare, by all accounts Shelvey doesn't get involved in the defensive side, so we've just abandoned the horrendous two DM strategy the minute we sign an actual DM. Maybe that contract thing is true, it's baffling how he can start every game
The vast majority of professional coaches think very conservatively. McClaren may well be planning on playing Saivet long term but it's not a surprise that Colback starts today instead of the new guy.
It's s s***, annoying decision, but it's not a long term one yet, imo.
