  1. That moron is the reason we play Gouffran on the wing, its not like we don't have far better options than him. Exactly.
  2. Love Mick McCarthy Aye! (Guess somebody has to post that gif now, can't be arsed to search for it)
  3. Howay Ipswich. Always had a soft spot for them.
  4. Whilst I disagree wholeheartedly, it's not just the football aspect of Alan Pardew I have a problem with, it's his total lack of respect for the football club, its supporters, its history. Unlike the rest of the managers in the division, he has absolutely no interest in the club being at all successful or even interesting. He's a leech, hanging onto a once great institution to feed his own ego whilst bringing it down to his level so that he can remain employed. That's why I can't support the team whilst he's in charge. In short, he's a c***.
  5. I'll say it again; if it wasn't for Pardew I'd be fairly pleased with our current state.
  6. Tata Martino to be named Argentina coach.
  7. Dyer could play in the centre though and we had Robert and Solano on the wings. Don't think he would start.
  8. Bellamy was way more effective, for sure and for a period he was probably our most important player. Dyer had similar problems to HBA I guess. But then neither of them has/had the status Ben Arfa seem to have amongst Newcastle supporters, despite doing way more for the team (Bellamy).
  9. Thing is though, he's had similar problems/shortcomings his whole career. Yes, Pardew is a fuckwit, and yes it's possible that a manager with the right outlook and man-management skills would make him a superstar (he'd be fantastic under Keegan, for example) but it's not an easy task, as proved by several other managers.
  10. Like who? Cabaye is about it. Coloccini and Demba Ba, definitely.
  11. So it's basically the Pardew nemesis thing then? We've had several better players during Pardew's tenure, mind.
  12. Yes, technically he's one of the most gifted players we've had in many years but when it comes to intelligence and decision making on the pitch he's not top notch. Of course, if he would be he'd play for Barca or Real Madrid rather than Newcastle. Guess what I'm saying is I don't really understand the reactions to all things concerning him, he's no Toon legend. I very much like him, he's an exciting player but personally I can't compare with, say, Nolberto Solano. Felt genuinely sad when he left.
  13. We're targeting blue and white opposition this pre-season.
  14. Loved him at the World Cup, would be nice.
  15. What do you think of Jose Fonte? Got loads of points last season but I have a feeling Southampton may implode.
  16. Based on how many points they got last season they're definitely not overpriced.
  17. Manage to find it... Is this the supposed same small team trying to poach Colo? Yup, small as in world standards in every way imaginable but one of the 5 big teams in Argentina definitely. Either way it'll be a new Copa Libertadores winner and that there has been 2 Paraguayan finalists in the last 2 seasons is bizarre when you consider the ranking/money involved in South America although it is (Brazil aside) a lot more even that what we have over here. It's a bit 70/80s in a way and not much different I'd imagine going to the games (had I been old enough to go to games then). Isn't San Lorenzo strongly associated with the catholic church? I know the Pope is a fan.
  18. Nah, I dont think so. Money is the only thing that makes it difficult for the fat man to pull the trigger.
