  1. Probably a good manager but not sure Potter would be a good fit. Managing Newcastle is totally different from what he’s done so far. Not sure he’d want to come either.
  2. No, it’s not just you. I’m uncomfortable with it and we should continue talking about it. But at the same time we shouldn’t feel guilty, we don’t pick our owners, we’re allowed to celebrate Ashley leaving and to look forward to better times, much better times. It’s the flag-waving, making excuses and taking a stand for the Saudis politically I have a problem with.
  3. Think Rodgers would be very good, potentially
  4. Många svenskar som dyker upp helt plötsligt / many Swedes turning up all of a sudden
  5. I’d take him short-term.
  6. Britpop was still a thing
  7. Probably because he’s been offered the job. According to La Gazetta at least.
  8. Could be that they want their man in before they sack Bruce.
  9. We’re allowed to celebrate. But not seeing Saudi ownership as problematic, at all, and instead waving flags…I can’t understand that.
  10. Maybe Rafa has a clause in his contract with Everton. If NUFC are sold, I’m off.
  11. ? SKÅL from Sweden. We did it!
  12. An investment group led by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and also comprising PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media (the “Investment Group”), has completed the acquisition of 100% of Newcastle United Limited and Newcastle United Football Club Limited (“Newcastle United” or the “Club”) from St. James Holdings Limited. All requisite approvals have been obtained from the English Premier League and the acquisition was completed on 7 October 2021. The Investment Group is comprised of long-term, patient investors who have every confidence in the future success of the Club. Today’s announcement is the conclusion of a thorough and detailed process that has allowed the Investment Group to arrive at a deal that benefits all stakeholders and will leave Newcastle United well-placed to pursue a clear, long-term strategy. His Excellency Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of PIF, will serve as Non-Executive Chairman of Newcastle United. Amanda Staveley, chief executive of PCP Capital Partners, will have one seat on the board. Jamie Reuben will also be a director of the Club, representing RB Sports & Media. For PIF, one of the world’s most impactful investors, the acquisition is in line with its strategy of focusing on key sectors including Sports and Entertainment, and aligns with PIF’s mission to actively invest over the long term – in this case, to harness the Club’s potential and build upon the Club’s legacy. Commenting on the agreement, His Excellency Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Governor of PIF, said: "We are extremely proud to become the new owners of Newcastle United, one of the most famous clubs in English football.
  13. Yes please. Can’t see it happening though.
  14. I’d take Osimhen. And Insigne. Double swoop.
  15. No, because I have to work from the office tomorrow.
  16. I’m not convinced on Potter tbh. Is he a big club manager?
  17. Have to say I’m a little bitter this has been dragged out for so long that we can’t have Rafa. He would have been perfect in the build-up phase.
