I'm an adopted south Londoner myself so I'm also going to defend the area. For example, I've been racially abused in Newcastle, but never in Croydon...yet I much prefer the city of Newcastle to Croydon, mainly for the personalities and warmth of the people. Don't let the actions of a few give you a false impression of an entire area. I used to go to Selhurst Park quite a bit, and have found over the years that a lot of their fans share the same self-depreciating, gallows humour that's emanated from years of failure.

Terrible shame it'd be to miss all this... That's fair enough - but I don't see how dropping down into the Championship would help things (let alone the potential on embarking on a mega tumble down the divisions). If we're gonna be shite, I'd rather be shite in the PL. At the very least, we can watch sides with quality players more regularly. The Championship is a glorified street brawl and even though our season down there was the best in Ashley's reign of terror, the circumstances are entirely different now.

People are saying that Carr's recruitment has been poor recently but surely it doesn't help that we're going after, presumably, his 3rd/4th choices due to being incredibly tight with spending? Perhaps Gini and Mitrovic are exceptions to this but they've hardly had a kick yet, especially the latter.
