Yeah I'm sure the highlights from sky etc use specially positioned mics to give a sense of mixed atmosphere. Because at St James' park if you're below level 7 the away fans noise very rarely transmits down. Obviously there are exceptions but generally the atmosphere doesn't seem to translate to TV.

It's a mindset born out of mike Ashley's tenure. Fans have had to fight to be heard and attempt to clear all the shit slung their way for pretty much all of Ashley's reign. Now, I literally couldn't give a shite about Mike Ashley/kinnear/Bruce/pardew/hairy hands/Rio/Simon jordan and so on. We are now just a football club, doing the normal things a football club has people talking about. No drama, no Infighting, just football. He was infuriating at times tonight because it just didn't seem to be coming off for him whatever he tried, and probably just needed to simplify his approach which I think he did tbh. The crowd were becoming restless with him but he was still offering an out and making the runs. Was a nice period towards end of second half where the crowd could see he was getting frustrated and actually got a chant going for him(rarely hear an ASM chant?) To let him know we are still onside with what he is trying to do, try and keep his head up amongst the grumbles. However much he frustrates me he's absolute class for a team like us, and I can afford him more time than others as he can offer that singular piece of game winning magic that our team severely lacks.

Stayed behind waiting for all the crowds to disperse tonight and there was a bloke in the leazes on his tod dual wielding flags loving his life. Really is a joy to see people enjoying themselves at St James' again, cheers WF!

If we stay up the summer transfer policy needs to be ruthless tbh, there can't be room for "well he always tried hard but wasn't really any good". Wolves is going to be another stiff test for Howe and the team and I'd really like to see a response from them, at least in application.
