  1. Good shout. I like Rhodes and if we could get him for £7-8 million would defo take that on. Austin and Rhodes for £22 million ish. I would be game. We need to get going on spending some cash.
  2. Nah. Even if you don't rate Colback, it's obviously Tiote has been terrible for at least 18 months now. Can't remember his last good performance.
  3. Williamson does need to gan like. He's a decent championship defender - no shame in that, but a break is best for both parties.
  4. No good at all. They need to get the fans onside. Should be busting a gut to get an early signing in where we actually spend some money. Typical Toon!
  5. Not encouraging. I thought they'd want to get a decent signing in the books early on. Looks like it's going to be penny-pinching snideness again.
  6. If I were Liverpool, would snap City's hand off for £35million (with £5 million in further payments) for Sterling. Overated.
  7. Was very impressed with Wales last night. Looked really solid, and looked like a proper team. With Israel and Andorra at home to come, they're in a strong position.
  8. People are too harsh on Colback. He shouldn't be playing all the time but he can certainly be useful especially in 5 man midfield. We need depth in squad. We need investment but Colback is a decent sub/semi-starter for us. If we can 4-4-2 maybe don't play him as much. Also can emergency full back.
  9. I hope Abeid gets another chance here. He had a great year in Greece and when he got into the team played well before his injuries. Then he comes back and makes a mistake against Man Utd which leads to a goal. After that, he barely featured and then it starts to be mentioned in news articles that the coaches don't think he can do this and that etc and he is likely to be one of the ones shipped out. He is still young so why not try to coach the lad to address the shortcomings in his game instead of writing him off. The attitude with Pardew and his staff seemed to be why bother trying to improve a player - just ship them out. So MYM couldn't head a ball (like the other central defenders could!) so why not coach so he learns how to do that. I can't believe how quick they were to write players off. That is why the coaches needed to go as these players need to be looked at though fresh eyes without being influenced by entrenched opinions. Hopefully such issues will now be addressed and we will see players starting to improve with the help of the staff. Abeid might not be good enough but it seemed that he was never going to get the chance to prove himself either way. Good point. I totally agree.

Oh no, you've been duped by them again, when will people learn?! Exactly. People going a bit ott here like. We've got rid of next seasons assistant manager. The club, it's goals and everything it stands for remains unchanged. I get that, it's just a relief he is gone and the start we needed if we are to progress. Obviously time will tell but Carver as Manager just drained me.

Good news. Let's start acting like a proper club now.
  12. He won the League Cup with Boro. How is that failure?
  13. Fair point. I didn't think Chelsea wanted to sell Bamford, is there not chance of a loan deal for the season? I'm sure they rate him highly, but just want him to get more experience. If we can get Austin, Bamford, with Cisse and Perez, I'd be pretty happy with our frontline tbf.
  14. Would take Charlie Austin all day long.
  15. Hopefully he can sort our woeful set-pieces (attacking and defending) and maybe we'll try and win a game by more than a goal.
  16. Yeah this is a fair comment. There are certainly worse appointments out there.

    Just get him sacked ASAP.

Actually you looked safe as houses when Pardew was in charge. I'll settle for the bragging rights on the derby games for now, especially as I was convinced we'd be relegated when Poyet was playing for 0-0's every game I'm pretty chuffed Hull have gone, the b******s have tortured us the last two seasons. I must give a mention for Jonas. So pleased he got the goal today, he comes across as a very decent bloke....best of luck to him. Looking forward to next season already Fair post this.
  19. I agree. Defo could be a solid squad player for us. There are loads more we need to get rid of before Jonas.
  20. Ashley Out/this brush with relegation has clearly rattled him. It's simple for him: get in a proper manager ASAP, and spend £50 Million in the summer. Hopefully he "gets it" now.
  21. He is obviously trying hard, but his finishing is utter gash.
