If clubs are wanting to sell, lets for arguments sake use ourselves as the example and mitrovic, why would we inflate the price of him if we really dont need him or want him here? I think our new owner or owners will be far more ambitious than Ashley ever has been or will. I don't imagine we will see mega money being spent, however. I think it was be gradual growth with an emphasis on investing on infrastructure, the academy etc. They haven’t even got the ambition to get the deal done. They haven’t understood announcing this would give us a much needed lift and some hope amongst fans for real change. To get his full potential you would need to make someone like him a captain. As silly as it sounds and nobody would agree, he would benefit from being a leader. Hes the kind of player who needs an arm around him now and then, but would feel immensely important and loved if he had a big role to play. Trouble is somewhere someone might trust a lad like him with this responsibility, but Rafa would never. He's captained us a few times under Rafa iirc and anyway there is nothing to back up anything you just said Its not that I was dealing in facts, just my opinion, and I thought he had been given the band in the championship. But not just for one or two games where he knows he will be handing it back.

Am I reading it right, hes taking the piss that City or Pep cant complain how sides set up against a side that can just buy the league and walk all over sides, if we or Rafa are to get any sort of results against such sides. As much as merino looks classy at times, hes a lazy fucker who doesnt follow players and in two of our defeats on our terrible run was somewhat at fault for goals shipped. These were games Shelvey spent on the bench. Personally I think a lot has to do with Rafa not being keen on him(Shelvey) a bit like the Mitrovic situation and fans just jumping on board the hate train. I dont think its possible to judge who the better player out of him and Merino are, its still very new for Merino, he could end up one of those that look good to start then go backwards.
